An energy gap in the spectrum of atomic excitations systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
It is shown that atoms in the system can be treated as quantum particles localized in potential wells, created by atomic potentials of neighboring atoms. As a result, the state of atoms in the liquid is characterized by wave functions and the discrete energy spectrum resulting in formation of s and p - zones corresponding to the ground and excited ...

Characterisation of the role played by ELMO1, GPR141 and the intergenic polymorphism rs918980 in Fuchs' dystrophy in the Indian population

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study reports the upregulation of ELMO1 and GPR141 in human Fuchs' endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) corneal endothelium and ultraviolet A‐induced FECD mice model. A genetic association of an intergenic single nucleotide polymorphism rs918980 present between both genes is observed with FECD in the Indian population.

Single atom force measurements: mapping potential energy landscapes via electron beam induced single atom dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
In the last decade, the atomically focused beam of a scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM) was shown to induce a broad set of transformations of material structure, open pathways for probing atomic-scale reactions and atom-by-atom matter assembly.

Mapping Hsp104 interactions using cross‐linking mass spectrometry

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study examines how cross‐linking mass spectrometry can be utilized to analyze ATP‐induced conformational changes in Hsp104 and its interactions with substrates. We developed an analytical pipeline to distinguish between intra‐ and inter‐subunit contacts within the hexameric homo‐oligomer and discovered contacts between Hsp104 and a selected ...

Feshbach Resonance and Hybrid Atomic/Molecular BEC-Systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1998
The interactions responsible for Feshbach resonances in binary atom collisions produce a condensate of molecules in the atomic BEC-system. We discuss the `ground state' of the condensate system and illustrate that its properties differ quantitatively and qualitatively from the properties of a single condensate with atom-atom interactions described by ...

Research on the Source Convergence Diagnose Method of Monte Carlo Critical Calculation for Loosely Coupled System [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
In order to improve the reliability and accuracy of Monte Carlo program in the critical safety calculation of loosely coupled systems, an improved Shannon entropy diagnose method considering the distribution of fission sources and the statistical bias is

Bioengineering facets of the tumor microenvironment in 3D tumor models: insights into cellular, biophysical and biochemical interactions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.
