Detection of NMR signals with a radio-frequency atomic magnetometer
We demonstrate detection of proton NMR signals with a radio frequency atomic magnetometer tuned to the NMR frequency of 62 kHz. High-frequency operation of the atomic magnetometer makes it relatively insensitive to ambient magnetic field noise. We obtain

Quantum limit of optical magnetometry in the presence of ac-Stark shifts [PDF]
We analyze systematic (classical) and fundamental (quantum) limitations of the sensitivity of optical magnetometers resulting from ac-Stark shifts. We show that in contrast to absorption-based techniques, the signal reduction associated with classical ...

Suppression of thermal coupling noise in the SERF atomic co-magnetometer
Heating the alkali metal vapor cell to obtain high atomic density is a prerequisite for realizing the high-precision measurement for spin-exchange relaxation-free (SERF) co-magnetometer.

Multichannel optical atomic magnetometer operating in unshielded environment
A multi-channel atomic magnetometer operating in an unshielded environment is described and characterised. The magnetometer is based on D1 optical pumping and D2 polarimetry of Cs vapour contained in gas-buffered cells.

The absolute measurement of magnetic fields can be realized by monitoring the Larmor precession of atomic spins. Yet, this spin-precession magnetometer can only be put into use in weak magnetic fields and the sensitivity is limited by the coherence time ...

Search for plant biomagnetism with a sensitive atomic magnetometer [PDF]
We report what we believe is the first experimental limit placed on plant biomagnetism. Measurements with a sensitive atomic magnetometer were performed on the Titan arum (Amorphophallus titanum) inflorescence, known for its fast bio-chemical processes ...

Iron‐based metallic glass alloys exhibit excellent soft‐magnetic properties, and unprecedented geometrical freedom in the design of soft‐magnetic metallic glass components is made possible by additive manufacturing. An efficient workflow for developing parameters for laser‐based powder bed fusion of a Fe‐based metallic glass alloy is presented along ...

Measurement of longitudinal nuclear spin relaxation time in NMR gyroscope by real-time monitoring
In the atomic cell of a nuclear magnetic resonance gyroscope, a transverse bias field is applied to enable the in situ alkali magnetometer to sense the variations in the longitudinal magnetic field.

A wood‐based magnetic and conductive material called Magwood (MW), capable of blocking almost 99.99% of electromagnetic waves (in the X‐band frequency range), is synthesized using a simple, solvent‐free process. MW is lightweight, resists water, and is flame‐retardant, making it a promising alternative for shielding electronics. The rapid proliferation

High Bandwidth Atomic Magnetometery with Continuous Quantum Non-demolition Measurements
We describe an experimental study of spin-projection noise in a high sensitivity alkali-metal magnetometer. We demonstrate a four-fold improvement in the measurement bandwidth of the magnetometer using continuous quantum non-demolition (QND) measurements.
