Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...

Atomic magnetometer based on a double-dark-state system

open access: yes, 2011
We propose an atomic magnetometer based on time-domain interferometry with a double-dark-state system created in ultracold atoms. We show that the occupation difference of the two dark states varies sensitively with magnetic fields and measurement time ...

Strain Engineering of Magnetoresistance and Magnetic Anisotropy in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Biaxial compressive strain significantly enhances magnetoresistance and critical saturation fields in thin flakes of the 2D magnet CrSBr, along all three crystallographic axes. First‐principles calculations link these effects to strain‐induced increases in exchange interactions and magnetic anisotropy.

Optically Pumped Magnetometer and Its Application

open access: yes
The optically pumped magnetometer (OPM) is a class of atomic devices that rely on the measurement of Larmor precession of an atomic spin ensemble in a magnetic field.

Role of Liquid Composition in the Transient Liquid Assisted Growth of Superconducting YBa2Cu3O7‐δ Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The Y supersaturation in the [Ba‐Cu(I/II)‐O] transient liquid composition is the driving force toward YBCO nucleation and growth in TLAG. Tuning the initial (Ba:Cu) molar ratio in the ink composition determines the YBCO epitaxial nucleation through supersaturation control.

Multichannel optical atomic magnetometer operating in unshielded environment

open access: yes, 2016
A multichannel atomic magnetometer operating in an unshielded environment is described and characterised. The magnetometer is based on D1 optical pumping and D2 polarimetry of Cs vapour contained in gas-buffered cells.

Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination

Search for plant biomagnetism with a sensitive atomic magnetometer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We report what we believe is the first experimental limit placed on plant biomagnetism. Measurements with a sensitive atomic magnetometer were performed on the Titan arum (Amorphophallus titanum) inflorescence, known for its fast biochemical processes ...

Characterizing current noise of commercial constant-current sources by using of an optically-pumped rubidium atomic magnetometer

open access: yes, 2023
This paper introduces a method for characterizing the current noise of commercial constant-current sources(CCSs) using a free-induction-decay(FID) type optically-pumped rubidium atomic magnetometer driven by a radio-frequency(RF) magnetic field.
