Thermoelectric power generators (TEGs) based on Seebeck effect convert waste heat into electricity. However, the practical applications of such TEGs are limited by their low output DC voltage (10–300 mV).

Velocity selective trapping of atoms in a frequency-modulated standing laser wave [PDF]
The wave function of a moderately cold atom in a stationary near-resonant standing light wave delocalizes very fast due to wave packet splitting. However, we show that frequency modulation of the field may suppress packet splitting for some atoms having specific velocities in a narrow range. These atoms remain localized in a small space for a long time.

Dose rate correction of a diode array for universal wedge field dosimetric verification
Abstract Purpose To study the performance of MapCHECK 3 (MC3) in measuring universal wedge fields and propose a dose rate correction strategy to improve MC3 measurement accuracy. Materials and methods Universal wedge fields with different wedge angles and field sizes were measured at different depths using MC3.

Monte Carlo modeling of radiation dose from radiation therapy with superficial x‐rays
Abstract Introduction Superficial x‐rays (50–100 kVp) are used for treating non‐melanoma skin cancer and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT). At these energies, the photoelectric effect significantly increases absorbed dose to bone compared to soft tissue.

Atoms can be divided into three categories: polar, non-polar and hydrogen atom [PDF]
Since the time of Rutherford 1911) physicists and chemists commonly believed that with no electric field, the nucleus of an atom is at the centre of the electron cloud, atoms do not have permanent electric dipole moment (EDM), so that there is no polar atom in nature. In the fact, the idea is untested hypothesis.
