Photoionization of Trans-Fe Ions: Se IV, Se V, and Se VI

open access: yesAtoms
In the present study, the photoionization cross-sections are calculated for the trans-Fe ions Se IV, Se V, and Se VI over a wide energy region for ground and meta-stable states within the Dirac Atomic R-matrix approach (darc).

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

An Explicit Numerical Scheme for Milne’s Phase–Amplitude Equations

open access: yesAtoms
We present an explicit numerical method to solve Milne’s phase–amplitude equations. Existing methods directly solve Milne’s nonlinear equation for amplitude.

Bremsstrahlung induced atomic processes

open access: yes
Abstract The observed spectra in the collisions of neon (Ne) projectiles of 1.8 and 2.1 MeV with an aluminum target (Al) have beensuccessfully segregated from strong bremsstrahlung backgrounds and then analyzed by comparing the transition energies andrates with the theoretical predictions of the flexible atomic structure code and the general ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Data on Stark Broadening of N V Spectral Lines

open access: yesData
A data set on Stark broadening parameters defining the Lorentzian line profile (spectral line widths and shifts) for 31 multiplets of four-times-charged nitrogen ion (N V), with lines broadened by impacts with electrons (e), protons (p), He II ions, α ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Atomic oxygen interaction with solar array blankets at protective coating defect sites [PDF]

open access: yes
Atomic oxygen in the low-Earth-orbital environment oxidizes SiOx protected polyimide Kapton solar array blankets at sites which are not protected such as pin windows or scratches in the protective coatings.
