Efficient Picking through Atomic Operations

2013 19th International Conference on Control Systems and Computer Science, 2013
Picking is the process through which a single entity or a list of entities is selected from a scene. The subject of picking is both a rendering and a collision detection problem, with the majority of research being on optimizing the ray-scene intersection problem.

An efficient photo-atom source

Optics Communications, 1997
Abstract We show that it is possible to obtain a very efficient photo-atom source, whose atom flux is regulated by light. The atom release is due to the recently observed light-induced atom desorption effect from silane coated cells. We report the results obtained at room temperature with rubidium in a double body cell coated with (poly)dimethyl ...

Polyoxometalates: Powerful Catalysts for Atom‐Efficient Cyclopropanations

Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis, 2010
AbstractThe polyoxometalate‐based catalytic cyclopropanation of olefins by ethyl diazoacetate (EDA) is reported. The outstanding catalyst productivity (TONs up to 100,000) and the use of equimolar EDA/olefin ratio confer to the methodology a high sustainability. Preliminary mechanistic investigations are also discussed.

Efficient cooling and trapping of strontium atoms

Optics Letters, 2003
We report the capture of cold strontium atoms in a magneto-optical trap (MOT) at a rate of 4 x 10(10) atoms/s. The MOT is loaded from an atomic beam decelerated by a Zeeman slower operating with a focused laser beam. The 461-nm laser, used for both cooling and trapping, was generated by sum-frequency mixing in a KTP crystal with diode lasers at 813 nm ...

EFFICIENT SOLUTION TO UNIFORM ATOMIC BROADCAST

International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2002
Chandra and Toueg proposed in 1993 a new approach to overcome the impossibility of reaching deterministically Consensus — and by corollary Atomic Broadcast — in asynchronous systems subject to crash failures. They augment the asynchronous system with a possibly Unreliable Failure Detector which provides some information about the operational state of ...

EFFICIENT TELEPORTATION OF UNKNOWN ATOMIC ENTANGLED STATES

International Journal of Quantum Information, 2006
We propose a scheme for teleporting unknown atomic entangled states in cavity QED. With the assistance of a strong classical field, the photon number dependent parts in the effective Hamiltonian are canceled. Thus, the scheme is insensitive to both the cavity decay and the thermal field.

3D Noble‐Metal Nanostructures Approaching Atomic Efficiency and Atomic Density Limits

Advanced Materials
AbstractNoble metals have been widely used in catalysis, however, the scarcity and high cost of noble metal motivate researchers to balance the atomic efficiency and atomic density, which is formidably challenging. This article proposes a robust strategy for fabricating 3D amorphous noble metal‐based oxides with simultaneous enhancement on atomic ...
