Efficient atomic snapshots using lattice agreement

1992
The snapshot object is an important tool for the construction of wait-free asynchronous algorithms. We relate the snapshot object to the lattice agreement decision problem. It is shown that any algorithm for solving lattice agreement can be used to implement the snapshot object. Several new lattice agreement algorithms are presented. The most efficient

Atom Economy and Reaction Mass Efficiency

2014
The green metrics atom economy (AE) and reaction mass efficiency (RME) are introduced and discussed. Following literature definitions, examples of reactions appropriate for upper-level undergraduate students are provided to illustrate how the metrics are calculated.

[Relation between theoretical atomization efficiency and atomization temperature in GFAAS].

Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2004
In this work, the relationship between the theoretical atomization efficiencies (EA') and atomization temperature (T) in graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS) for 18 elements were studied in detail. The results showed that a linear relationship between the EA' and the atomization temperature existed at a definite atomization ...

Fluorescence collection efficiency of atoms in dipole traps

Optics Letters
The fluorescence collection from single atoms and emitters has been extensively utilized in quantum information and quantum optics research. Here, we investigated the collection efficiency of an objective lens by drawing an analogy between the free-space beam (FSB) and a waveguide mode.

Computationally Efficient Atomic Representations for Nonstationary Stochastic Processes

International Journal of Wavelets, Multiresolution and Information Processing, 2003
Function approximation methods based on frames or other overcomplete dictionaries of approximating functions offer advantages over the orthogonal schemes due to the fact that the associated redundancy may lead to better de-noising and reconstruction power.

Atomization efficiency of a Massmann-type graphite furnace

Talanta, 1992
The atomization efficiency of the Perkin-Elmer HGA-400 for the production and containment of atomic vapour has been determined for Al, Co, Au, Ni, Fe, Ag, Ga and Cu by a method developed under non-isothermal conditions. The method takes into account the residence time and the shape of the absorbance signal profile.

The Atom Economy—A Search for Synthetic Efficiency

Science, 1991
Efficient synthetic methods required to assemble complex molecular arrays include reactions that are both selective (chemo-, regio-, diastereo-, and enantio-) and economical in atom count (maximum number of atoms of reactants appearing in the products).
