Diatomic molecules in ultracold Fermi gases - Novel composite bosons

open access: yes, 2005
We give a brief overview of recent studies of weakly bound homonuclear molecules in ultracold two-component Fermi gases. It is emphasized that they represent novel composite bosons, which exhibit features of Fermi statistics at short intermolecular ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Tetraaquatetrakis{μ3-3,3′-[(E,E)-ethane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilomethylidyne)]benzene-1,2-diolato}octazinc(II) N,N-dimethylformamide hexasolvate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2009
The asymmetric unit of the title compound [Zn8(C16H12N2O4)4(H2O)4]·6C3H7NO, consists of eight ZnII cations, four tetravalent anionic ligands, L4− (L4− = 3,3′-(1E,1′E)-(ethane-1,2-diylbis(azan-1-yl-1 ...

A Mott-like State of Molecules

open access: yes, 2006
We prepare a quantum state where each site of an optical lattice is occupied by exactly one molecule. This is the same quantum state as in a Mott insulator of molecules in the limit of negligible tunneling.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Diaquabis(2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxylato-κ2O2,O3)manganese(II)

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2011
In the title compound, [Mn(C10H5O4)2(H2O)2], the MnII atom lies on a crystallographic inversion center and is six-coordinated by two O atoms from water molecules in the axial positions and four O atoms from two deprotonated coumarin-3-carboxylic acid ...

Momentum-resolved radio-frequency spectroscopy of a spin-orbit coupled atomic Fermi gas near a Feshbach resonance in harmonic traps

open access: yes, 2012
We theoretically investigate the momentum-resolved radio-frequency spectroscopy of a harmonically trapped atomic Fermi gas near a Feshbach resonance in the presence of equal Rashba and Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

{μ-6,6′-Dimethoxy-2,2′-[propane-1,3-diylbis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenolato}dimethanoltrinitratonickel(II)samarium(III) methanol disolvate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2009
In the title complex, [NiSm(C19H20N2O4)(NO3)3(CH4O)2]·2CH3OH, the NiII ion is coordinated by two O atoms and two N atoms of a deprotonated Schiff base ligand and by two O atoms of two methanol ligands in a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. The

What Is an Atom in a Molecule?

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2005
The derivation of the Hirshfeld atoms in molecules from information theory is clarified. The importance for chemistry of the concept of atoms in molecules (AIM) is stressed, and it is argued that this concept, while highly useful, constitutes a noumenon in the sense of Kant.
