Canine atopy is a seasonal, familial disease usually manifest as rubbing or scratching of the face (particularly the eyes and nostrils). Spontaneous hay fever and urticaria are rare. Reaginic antibody can be demonstrated in canine atopics by passive transfer to normal dogs.
