Genetic variation of the nuclear sequences of mitochondrial origin associated with retrotransposon Tv1 insertions in Drosophila species of the virilis group

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции, 2018
Mitochondrial DNA sequences integrated into chromosomes are a promising object for designing genetic markers for studies of phylogenesis and genomic instability. Mitochondrial genomes of D.

A novel variant m.8561C>T in the overlapping region of MT-ATP6 and MT-ATP8 in a child with early-onset severe neurological signs

open access: yesMolecular Genetics and Metabolism Reports, 2019
Among mitochondrial diseases, isolated complex V (CV) deficiency represents a rare cause of respiratory chain (RC) dysfunction. In mammalian mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), MT-ATP6 partly overlaps with MT-ATP8 making double mutations possible, yet extremely ...

BCG vaccination potentiates oxidative phosphorylation in neonatal myeloid‐derived suppressor cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
BCG vaccination enhances oxidative phosphorylation in neonatal MDSCs, impairing their immunosuppressive function. It upregulates electron transport chain genes and mitochondrial activity, increasing ATP and oxygen consumption. Pharmacological OXPHOS inhibition partially restores suppressive capacity, confirming causality.

The typically mitochondrial DNA-encoded ATP6 subunit of the F1F0-ATPase is encoded by a nuclear gene in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii

open access: yes, 2002
The atp6 gene, encoding the ATP6 subunit of F1F0-ATP synthase, has thus far been found only as an mtDNA-encoded gene. However, atp6 is absent from mtDNAs of some species, including that of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Analysis of C.

Dual Role of Tamoxifen in Enhancing STING and CEACAM1 Expression to Prime a Favorable Tumor Microenvironment for Anti‐TIM3 Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade has revolutionized cancer immunotherapy, but is ineffective against endocrine‐treated (i.e., Tamoxifen), relapsed ER+ breast cancer (BC) patients. This study provides insight into the sub‐optimal response of ER+BCs to anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade – highlighting the induction of STING and the CEACAM1/TIM3 axis after chronic ...

Chemical Bond‐Orchestrated Energy Depletion to Augment Lung Cancer Chemo‐Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study grafted dichloroacetic acid (DCA) into perylenediimide (PDI) skeleton via ionic or covalent bond to create novel metabolic agent PDIC‐AC and PDIC‐NAC, explicitly elaborated the underlying energy metabolism and therapeutic mechanism, and developed a promising strategy for energy metabolism‐targeting chemo‐immunotherapy by chemical bond ...

The atp6 Coding Region Has Been Disrupted and a Novel Reading Frame Generated in the Mitochondrial Genome of Cytoplasmic Male-sterile Radish" [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The gene atp6, encoding subunit 6 of the mitochondrial Fo-ATPase complex, has been characterized from both the normal (fertile) and Ogura (male-sterile) radish cytoplasms in order to determine if previously identified atp6 transcriptional differences ...

Cellular diversity of the developing chick trigeminal ganglion at single‐cell resolution

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The trigeminal ganglion (TG) integrates sensory input from the face and jaw and is derived from two embryonic cell populations: neural crest and cranial placode. These populations interact during TG development to coordinate specification, differentiation, and organization, but the molecular characteristics of the heterogeneous cell

Isolation of an ascorbate peroxidase in Brassica napus and analysis of its specific interaction with ATP6 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In Brassica napus, ATP6 is related to Pol cytoplasmic male sterility. To understand the mechanism of Pol CMS, proteins which interact with ATP6 were screened in a yeast two-hybrid system. A partial sequence of a putative and ascorbate peroxidase (Bn-APX)
