Systematic relationships of the Atractidae and Cosmocercidae (Nematoda: Cosmocercoidea): two new atractids parasitic in amphibians and fish

Canadian Journal of Zoology, 1982
Raillietnema spectans Gomes, 1964 (Cosmocercinae) from Bufo paracnemis of Brazil is redescribed. The cephalic, oesophageal, and male caudal structures of this species are strikingly similar to Schrankiana freitasi n. sp. (Atractidae) from Leptodactylus pentadactylus of Brazil and Labeonema bainae n. sp. (Atractidae) from the fish Eutropius liberiensis

Atractis marquezi n. sp. (Nematoda: Atractidae) and a Revision of Atractis Dujardin, 1845, Sensu Baker, 1987

Journal of Parasitology, 2002
Atractis marquezi n. sp. from the large intestine of the tortoise Geochelone nigrita is described and illustrated. Atractis Dujardin, 1845, sensu Baker, 1987, is revised to contain only those atractids having a lagonoid spicule. Developmental Stages of Grassenema procaviae Petter, 1959 (Cosmocercoidea: Atractidae) Found in the Stomach of Cape Hyrax (Procavia capensis)

Journal of Parasitology, 2022
Morphological examination was made of the larval forms of Grassenema procaviae (Cosmocercoidea: Atractidae), an autoinfective and viviparous nematode parasite in the stomach of Cape hyrax (Procavia capensis). Three different larval stages (second-, third- and fourth-stages), and the adult stage were found among the worms collected at necropsy of 3 ...

A new species of Orientatractis (Nematoda: Atractidae) from the tortoise Indotestudo elongata (Blyth) in China

Acta Parasitologica, 2018
AbstractA new species of nematode,Orientatractis longicaudatan. sp. is described from the intestine ofIndotestudo elongata(Blyth) (Testudinidae) from Zoo of Tianjin, Tianjin, China. The new species can be easily distinguished from its congers by having longer tail, by the length of gubernaculum and left spicule, and by the numbers of caudal papillae ...

Transmission, Host Specificity, and Seasonal Occurrence ofCyrtosomum penneri(Nematoda: Atractidae) in Lizards from Florida

Journal of Parasitology, 2013
Experimental infections and field-collected lizards were used to investigate issues of transmission, host specificity, and seasonal occurrence in the nematode Cyrtosomum penneri (Cosmocercoidea: Atractidae). Anolis sagrei (87 males, 42 females) were captured from the Florida Southern College campus, Polk County, Florida, from October 2010 to September ...
