The Evaluation of P‐Wave Parameters in Patients With Percutaneous Closure of Atrial Septal Defect

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 30, Issue 3, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Atrial septal defect (ASD) can lead to volume overload and related changes in P‐wave parameters in surface electrocardiograms of these patients. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the effect of volume overload on P‐wave parameters in patients with ASD. Materials and Methods This study is a retrospective cohort analysis.

Transesophageal Atrial Pacing for the Evaluation of Accessory Atrioventricular Pathways in Wolff‐Parkinson‐White Syndrome: A Pediatric Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 30, Issue 3, May 2025.
A 13‐year‐old boy has experienced intermittent paroxysmal palpitations for 5 years. Finally, tachycardia was induced through transesophageal atrial pacing, and an in‐depth analysis of the mechanism of tachycardia was conducted. The diagnostic results from transesophageal atrial pacing were fully consistent with those from intracardiac ...

Long‐Term Prognosis of Ischemic Stroke in Young Adults—A Single‐Center Chinese Cohort Study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2025.
The long‐term prognosis and identified risk factors associated with recurrent ischemic cerebrovascular events and unfavorable functional outcome in a single‐center cohort of young patients with ischemic stroke. ABSTRACT Introduction Young patients with ischemic stroke often present with more complex etiologies and risk factors, making their long‐term ...

Inhibition of Putative Ibrutinib Targets Promotes Atrial Fibrillation, Conduction Blocks, and Proarrhythmic Electrocardiogram Indices: A Mendelian Randomization Analysis

open access: yesCancer Innovation, Volume 4, Issue 2, April 2025.
ErbB2 inhibition was associated with an increased risk of atrial fibrillation, prolonged QTc interval, and increased P wave terminal force. CSK inhibition demonstrated potential links to conduction blocks, while PLCG2 inhibition led to changes in P wave terminal force, QTc interval, and an increased risk of left bundle branch block.

Direct Epicardial Mapping and Ablation Revealing Three‐Dimensional Roof‐Dependent Macroreentrant Atrial Tachycardia Breaking Into Bachmann's Bundle

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Catheter ablation for macroreentrant atrial tachycardia (AT) that recurs after atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation is occasionally difficult because of epicardial connections. Here, we report the case of a patient who underwent ablation for recurrent AT after AF ablation.

Anesthetic Challenges of Labor and Delivery in a Patient With Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia and Left Ventricular Non‐Compaction Cardiomyopathy

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia (CPVT) and Left Ventricular Non‐Compaction Cardiomyopathy (LVNC) are inherited disorders that pose significant challenges in the obstetric population due to the potential exacerbation of ventricular arrhythmias and potentially lethal cardiac compromise during pregnancy and labor.

Forecasting heart failure: Seasonal alignment of heart failure outcomes in New York

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 819-831, April 2025.
Abstract Background Seasonal variations have been observed in heart failure (HF) hospitalization. Numerous explanatory mechanisms have been proposed, but no prior studies have examined potential contributors directly. Our objective was to identify specific factors that could contribute to seasonal variability using a large longitudinal dataset of HF ...

Incident heart failure: comparing management and outcome in primary and hospital settings in Western Sweden 2008–2017

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 832-838, April 2025.
Abstract Aim Heart failure (HF) is a highly prevalent condition managed in both primary care (PC) and hospital care (HC)‐based settings. HF patients managed in these two settings may differ in their demography, comorbidities and outcomes, so we aimed to compare the patient management in PC and HC in the Västra Götaland Region (VGR) in Sweden.
