Dual chamber pacing mode in an atrial antitachycardia pacing device without a ventricular lead – A necessary evil

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal, 2015
We present a case of a single chamber atrial pacemaker implanted for sinus node dysfunction and treatment of macroreentrant atrial tachycardias with atrial antitachycardia pacing.

Influence of Atrioventricular Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia Ablation on Right to Left Inter-atrial Conduction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Background: Radiofrequency (RF) catheter ablation is the procedure of choice for the potential cure of atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) with high success rates.

Nonadherence and uncontrolled arterial hypertension in Croatia—Insights from the May Measurement Month 2023 campaign and Hunting the silent killer programme

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims To determine the prevalence of non‐adherence to antihypertensive medicines and to identify demographic and behavioral factors associated with non‐adherence in subjects enrolled in the May Measurement Month (MMM) 2023, as part of the permanent public health action Hunting the silent killer.

Teriparatide-induced atrial tachycardia [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Case Reports, 2018
We present the case of a patient who presented with worsening chest pain and tachycardia. We were able to monitor her remotely through her pacemaker. She had been started on the injectable medication teriparatide (Forteo) and since then she had an increase in her symptoms.

Clinical pharmacology and prescribing education: An updated medical school curriculum from the British Pharmacological Society

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims Prescribing is a complex, essential skill that doctors must acquire to practice medicine safely and effectively. The British Pharmacological Society has historically provided a core curriculum to guide clinical pharmacology and prescribing education in UK medical schools.

Long‐Term Impact of Prosthesis‐Patient Mismatch After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients With Small Aortic Annuli

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Prosthesis‐patient mismatch (PPM) remains common following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and is associated with worse clinical outcomes. PPM is of particular concern in small aortic annuli (SAA). Aims To compare the incidence, predictors, and long‐term impact of PPM in SAA TAVR.

Pre‐Existing and New‐Onset Atrial Fibrillation in Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a frequent comorbidity in patients with severe aortic valve stenosis undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). In addition, new‐onset AF can occur after TAVI. However, data on how AF affects outcomes in patients undergoing TAVI remain conflicting.
