Interruption of the Atrioventricular Bundle with Congenital Atrioventricular Block [PDF]
Two cases of congenital heart block were studied in which comprehensive serial section study of the conduction systems showed disruption of the penetrating portion of the atrioventricular (A-V) bundle. In one case, the branching portion of the A-V bundle was present together with the bundle branches.

Rate-dependency of action potential duration and refractoriness in isolated myocytes from the rabbit AV node and atrium [PDF]
During atrial fibrillation, ventricular rate is determined by atrioventricular nodal (AVN) conduction, which in part is dependent upon the refractoriness of single AVN cells.

Complete Atrioventricular Block
MitraClip (Abbott Vascular, Inc., Santa Clara, California) has emerged as a viable alternative for treatment of symptomatic severe mitral regurgitation. Conduction abnormalities are not a known complication of this procedure. We report a case of complete

Background: Congenital complete atrioventricular block without any structural heart disease and anti-Ro/La negativity is very rare. Discordant complete atrioventricular block, which is more frequently defined in the literature as an autoimmune mechanism,

ABSTRACT Turner syndrome (TS) is frequently complicated by congenital heart disease (CHD). While left‐sided lesions such as bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and coarctation of the aorta are the most common structural heart lesions in TS, other anomalies, such as aortic arch malformations, hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), persistent left superior vena

Case report: Challenges and implications of conduction system pacing in pediatrics: Case series
Cardiac electrical stimulation in children usually is needed in the setting of complete congenital atrioventricular block, atrioventricular block after heart surgery, and bradycardia associated with some specific channelopathies.

Abstract Autonomic nerves are crucial in cardiac function and pathology. However, data on the distribution of cholinergic and noradrenergic nerves in normal and pathologic human hearts is lacking. Nonfailing donor hearts were pressure‐perfusion fixed, imaged, and dissected. Left ventricular cardiomyopathy samples were also obtained.
