Bundle branch and atrioventricular block as complications of acute myocardial infarction in the thrombolytic era

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, 2001
OBJECTIVE: To analyze the incidence of intraventricular and atrioventricular conduction defects associated with acute myocardial infarction and the degree of in hospital mortality resulting from this condition during the era of thrombolytic therapy ...

Rouquier blocks for Ariki-Koike algebras [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
The Rouquier blocks, also known as the RoCK blocks, are important blocks of the symmetric groups algebras and the Hecke algebras of type A, with the partitions labelling the Specht modules that belong to these blocks having a particular abacus configuration.

Autopsy findings in cases of fatal COVID‐19 vaccine‐induced myocarditis

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract COVID‐19 vaccines have been linked to myocarditis, which, in some circumstances, can be fatal. This systematic review aims to investigate potential causal links between COVID‐19 vaccines and death from myocarditis using post‐mortem analysis.

Association between PR Interval, First‐degree atrioventricular block and major arrhythmic events in patients with Brugada syndrome – Systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, 2019
Background Risk stratification in patients with asymptomatic Brugada Syndrome is challenging, and despite recent advances, there is no clear evidence.

Global torus blocks in the necklace channel [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We continue studying of global conformal blocks on the torus in a special (necklace) channel. Functions of such multi-point blocks are explicitly found under special conditions on the blocks' conformal dimensions. We have verified that these blocks satisfy the Casimir equations, which were derived in previous studies.

Somatic growth in single ventricle patients: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, Volume 112, Issue 2, Page 186-199, February 2023., 2023
Abstract Aim To map somatic growth patterns throughout Fontan palliation and summarise evidence on its key modifiers. Methods Databases were searched for relevant articles published from January 2000 to December 2021. Height and weight z scores at each time point (birth, Glenn procedure, Fontan procedure and >5 years after Fontan completion) were ...

Real‐world outcomes in cardiac resynchronization therapy patients: Primary results of the SMART registry

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is guideline recommended for the treatment of symptomatic heart failure (HF) with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction and prolonged QRS. However, patients with common comorbidities, such as persistent/permanent atrial fibrillation (AF), are often under‐represented in clinical trials.

Growth and risk of adverse neuro‐developmental outcome in infants with congenital heart disease: A systematic review

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, Volume 112, Issue 1, Page 53-62, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Aim Congenital heart disease (CHD) is one of the most common birth defects affecting around 1:100 infants. In this systematic review, we aimed to determine impact of growth on neurodevelopmental outcomes of infants with CHD. Methods Studies that reported association of growth with developmental outcomes in infants with CHD who had surgery ...

Severity of tricuspid regurgitation predicts risk of recurrence of atrial fibrillation after pulmonary vein isolation

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) results in right atrial remodelling, thus promoting the formation of a substrate for atrial fibrillation (AF). In turn, AF may cause TR by annulus dilatation. We investigated whether the presence of TR affects the efficacy of pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) for AF. Methods and results In patients undergoing PVI,

Late recovery of sinus rhythm following perioperative complete atrioventricular block in a child with congenitally corrected transposition

open access: yesAnnals of Pediatric Cardiology, 2018
We report a patient with l-transposition of the great arteries who developed perioperative complete atrioventricular block at 5 years of age in conjunction with a modified double-switch operation, but had unexpected late recovery of normal sinus rhythm ...
