Effects of Heavy Water on Atropa Belladonna
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1965The growth of belladonna is strongly inhibited by D 2 O concentrations greater than 50 per cent. The alkaloid content decreases progressively as the deuterium level in the plant increases. Germinative ability of seeds containing up to 40 per cent deuterium is unimpaired.
