Clinical features and outcomes of horses presenting with presumed equine immune mediated keratitis to two veterinary hospitals in the United Kingdom and Finland: 94 cases (2009–2021)

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, Volume 57, Issue 3, Page 598-610, May 2025.
Abstract Background There is limited literature regarding equine immune mediated keratitis (IMMK) in Europe. North America‐based publications describe minimal blepharospasm, rare corneal ulceration and no uveitis; clinical impression suggests these are seen in Europe. Objectives Assess the prevalence of blepharospasm, corneal ulceration and uveitis and

Preclinical Evaluation of Closed Incisional Negative Pressure Therapy on Post‐Surgical Oedema and Lymphatic Activity

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 22, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Closed incisional Negative Pressure Therapy (ciNPT) has demonstrated improved post‐surgical healing with reduced oedema and hematoma/seroma formation in patients. The underlying mechanism of action is poorly understood, although evidence indicates that lymphatics play a role.

YY2 mediates transcriptional repression of PHGDH and expedites oxidative stress in retinal pigment epithelial cells in diabetic retinopathy

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, Volume 16, Issue 5, Page 775-790, May 2025.
The expression of YY2 was significantly elevated in diabetic retinopathy, and YY2 blocked the serine synthesis pathway in retinal epithelial cells by inhibiting the transcriptional expression of PHGDH, thereby inducing the progression of oxidative stress and ferroptosis in the cells.
