The width of attached gingiva on supraerupted teeth

Journal of Periodontal Research, 1978
On basis of earlier results it seems justified to assume that the antomical width of the attached gingiva, i.e. the distance from the mucogingival junction to the cemento‐enamel junction in human type of teeth is in direct proportion to the amount of past tooth eruption.

The Presence of “Creeping Attachment” in Human Gingiva

Journal of Periodontology, 1978
Standardized photography was used to determine the presence of "creeping attachment" after free autogenous graft procedures on localized areas of root recessions. "Creeping attachment" occurred in all seven experimental teeth with an average of 0.89 +/- 0.46 mm and a range of 0.38--0.61 mm during a period of 1 year.

Endogenous oxygen consumption rates of bovine attached gingiva

Journal of Periodontal Research, 1968
This investigation provided oxygen quotients of slices of bovine whole attached gingiva, the epithelium and the connective tissue. Respiratory measurements were made on an hourly basis for three consecutive hours with Gilmont differential syringe manometers according to the direct Method of Warburg at 37.5 C.

Orthopantomographic assessment of the width of attached gingiva

Journal of Periodontal Research, 1976
By revealing the mucogingival junction with Schiller's iodine solution and marking it separately at each tooth with a short piece of metal wire, attached to the tooth and gingiva with a strip of Squibb's Orahesive Dental Bandage, the location of the borderline between the attached gingiva and the free alveolar mucosa was made visible in the ...

Colorimetric distribution of human attached gingiva and alveolar mucosa

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2017
Few studies have investigated the colorimetric distribution of gingival color, including the posterior area and alveolar mucosa. The purpose of this in vivo study was to investigate the distribution of colorimetric values in different areas of gingiva and to determine its relationship to colorimetric findings of the tooth and skin in a young Korean ...

Attached gingiva: histology and surgical augmentation.

General dentistry, 2011
The keratinized attached gingiva provides the periodontium with increased resistance to external injury, contributes to the stabilization of the gingival margin, and aids in dissipating physiological forces exerted by the muscular fibers of the alveolar mucosa on the gingival tissues.

Lactic dehydrogenase in non‐inflamed attached gingiva of dogs

Journal of Periodontal Research, 1972
Ultramicrochemical methods were used to assay lactic dehydrogenase (L.D.H.) activity in non‐ inflamed attached gingival tissue of dogs. Precautions were taken to insure the clinical and histological non‐inflamed status of the gingivectomy specimens.
