CRP Deficiency Rescues Periodontitis‐Induced Hippocampal Neurogenesis Impairment by Suppressing OPC‐Derived BMP4 Signaling in Rats

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic periodontitis elevates circulating CRP, which enters the hippocampus to upregulate BMP4 in oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs), thereby impairing neurogenesis and inducing anxiety/depression‐like behaviors in rats. Counteracting this pathway, CRP deficiency helps confer functional resilience to OPCs.

Clinical evaluation of the effect of gingival thickness on increasing the width of keratinized and attached gingiva with and without preserving periosteum in an animal study

open access: yesJournal of Oral Health and Oral Epidemiology, 2017
BACKGROUND AND AIM: The present study was performed in order to assess the effect of gingival thickness on amount of gingival augmentation with and without preserving periosteum. METHODS: The study was conducted on 8 ecotype dogs aged 1-5 years.

Measurement of the Width of Attached Gingiva in An Indian Subpopulation

open access: yes, 2016
According to Orban and Sicher, oral cavity is lined by three different kind of mucosa. Masticatory mucosa which includes covering of hard palate and gingiva of alveolar process, lining mucosa which include covering of lips, cheeks and vestibular fornix ...

Multi‐Enzyme Mimetic Molybdenum Nitride Nanozymes Reshape Subgingival Microenvironment for Synergistic Periodontitis Therapy via ROS Regulation and Microbiome Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Periodontitis, a chronic inflammatory disease initiated and sustained by plaque microorganisms and host immune response, remains an intractable oral disease and a leading cause of tooth loss worldwide. Traditional mechanical debridement and adjunctive antibiotic or antiseptic therapy often shows limited efficacy due to the complex anatomical ...

Vertical Strip Gingival Graft: A New Technique for Gingival Augmentation A pilot study

open access: yesFrontiers in Dentistry, 2004
Statement of Problem: Although no minimum width of attached gingiva has been established as a standard for gingival health; gingival augmentation has been carried out because of many reasons.

Myeloid‐Derived Grancalcin Promotes Periodontal Inflammation and Pathological Bone Remodeling in Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Grancalcin (GCA), a myeloid‐derived protein, is enriched in gingival tissues of periodontitis patients and mouse models. Through interactions with CD44 and activation of MYH9, GCA promotes NF‐κB signaling and exacerbates periodontal inflammation and bone loss.

The increase of keratinized and attached gingiva using collagen wound dressing in dogs: A clinical and histomorphometric comparative study

open access: yesOral Biology Research, 2015
Purpose: This study examined the width of keratinized gingiva and attached gingiva after an apically repositioned flap (APF group), APF combined with free gingival grafts (FGG group), and APF combined with collagen wound dressing (Collatape® group), both

Design of Safe and Efficient Adenine Base Editors via Protein Language Model Screening for Osteoarthritis Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Base editors enable precise genome modification and have emerged as a promising therapeutic approach for correcting diseases caused by single‐nucleotide variants. While the current efficient version of adenine base editors (ABEs), such as ABE8e, exhibits exceptional efficiency for A‐to‐G conversions, their clinical translation is hindered by ...

NEW METHOD USING IMAGE ANALYSIS TO MEASURE GINGIVAL COLOR

open access: yesJournal of Dentistry Indonesia, 2015
For many years, observation of gingival color has been a popular area of dental research. However these methods are hard to analyze for any other than the different base conditions and colors. Thus we introduced an alternative method using image analysis

Mitochondria and Neuromast Tagging With Fluorescent Gallium‐Triapine Analogues: In Cellulo MP FLIM and Zebrafish Live Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fluorescent BODIPY‐conjugated thiosemicarbazone ligands and their Ga(III), In(III), and Fe(III) complexes, inspired by Triapine, are developed as theranostic agents. Multiphoton FLIM and confocal microscopy in cancer cells and zebrafish reveal real‐time uptake, mitochondrial localisation, and whilst spectroscopic assays indicated preserved complex ...
