Attachment Processes inWilderness Therapy

2012
Out-of-home treatments for adolescents present a distinct challenge for attachment-based clinical work. How can treatment enhance the attachment bonds between family members when the treatment is residential, by definition keeping the adolescent and his parent apart?

Rapid Processing of Cast and Attached Shadows

Perception, 2004
We used a visual-search method to investigate the role of shadows in the rapid discrimination of scene properties. Targets and distractors were light or dark 2-D crescents of identical shape and size, on a mid-grey background. From the dark stimuli, illusory 3-D shapes can be created by blurring one arc of the crescent.

Attachment processes in meteor trails

Journal of Atmospheric and Terrestrial Physics, 1961
Abstract The effects of the loss of electrons by attachment to neutral particles on the characteristics of long duration meteor echoes are considered. In a previous paper some properties of enduring echoes were explained using a two-body attachment process, with an attachment time constant of 40 sec at a height of 95 km.

Electron attachment processes in halomethanes

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 1998
We have investigated thermal electron capture processes in the mixtures of halomethanes and carbon dioxide (in excess) using the electron swarm method. We have found that except the very slow second order reactions (single collision) there occur processes involving homo-(RX)2 or heterogeniouos (RX·CO2) van der Waals complexes (multi-body pressure ...

Interpersonal Processes and Attachment in Voice-Hearers

Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy, 2014
Background: Studies of both clinical and non-clinical voice hearers suggest that distress is rather inconsistently associated with the perceived relationship between voice and hearer. It is also not clear if their beliefs about voices are relevant. Aims: This study investigated the links between attachment anxiety/avoidance, interpersonal aspects of ...

Emerging Attached-Growth Biological Processes

2009
Among the emerging attached-growth biological treatment processes covered in this chapter are fluidized bed reactor (FBR), packed bed reactor (PBR), biological aerated filter (BAF), and hybrid biological-activated carbon systems including downflow conventional biological GAC systems and upflow fluidized bed biological GAC system (FBB-GAC). This chapter

Measurement of the Attachment Force between an Air Bubble and a Mineral Surface: Relationship between the Attachment Force and Flotation Kinetics.

Langmuir, 2019
The interaction forces between air bubbles and mineral surfaces were directly measured during the attachment process using an apparatus developed in our laboratory, and they are defined as the attachment forces.

Tourists’ savoring of positive emotions and place attachment formation: a conceptual paper

Tourism Geographies, 2019
With increased interest in emotions and tourism, ‘savoring’, a process of attending to, enhancing, or prolonging positive emotions, should receive more scholarly attention.

Adult Attachment Orientations and Relationship Processes

Journal of Family Theory & Review, 2012
In the present article we provide an overview of attachment theory as it has been adapted and tested in our research program. We then review attachment research by many investigators on a variety of topics likely to be of interest to family researchers: patterns of communication, management of conflict, provision of care and support to relationship ...
