Some factors influencing peak yield and days attain to peak yield in Friesian cattle in the central region of Iraq

open access: yesAl-Qadisiyah Journal of Veterinary Medicine Sciences, 2012
This study was undertaken on 950 lactation records kept at Iraq-Jordanian company / Dujaila- Wasit Governorate during a period from 2001-2003.to evaluate the effect of some non-genetic factors (age at 1st calving, parity, the season of calving, year of calving and service period ) on peak milk yield and days to attain peak yield.T he least-squares ...

Intermolecular Interactions as Driving Force of Increasing Multiphoton Absorption in a Perylene Diimide‐Based Coordination Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

No quantum advantage for nonlocal computation

open access: yes, 2006
We investigate the problem of "nonlocal" computation, in which separated parties must compute a function with nonlocally encoded inputs and output, such that each party individually learns nothing, yet together they compute the correct function output ...

Yield gap decomposition: quantifying factors limiting soybean yield in Southern Africa

open access: yesnpj Sustainable Agriculture
Soybean production in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) is increasing as its demand for food, feed, cash, and soil fertility improvement soars. Yet, the difference between the smallholder farmers’ yield and either the attainable or the potential is large.

Polynomial Spline Collocation Methods for Volterra Integrodifferential Equations with Weakly Singular Kernels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we investigate the attainable order of (global) convergence of collocation approximations in certain polynomial spline spaces for solution of Volterra integrodifferential equations with weakly singular kernels.

Lipid Nanoparticles for the Delivery of CRISPR/Cas9 Machinery to Enable Site‐Specific Integration of CFTR and Mutation‐Agnostic Disease Rescue

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) are optimized to co‐deliver Cas9‐encoding messenger RNA (mRNA), a single guide RNA (sgRNA) targeting the endogenous cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene, and homologous linear double‐stranded donor DNA (ldsDNA) templates encoding CFTR.
