We report a large-scale examination of behavioral attenuation: due to information-processing constraints, the elasticity of people’s decisions with respect to economic fundamentals is generally too small. We implement more than 30 experiments, 20 of which were crowd-sourced from leading experts.

Corrections to the attenuation constants of piston attenuators
Proceedings of the IEE - Part III: Radio and Communication Engineering, 1949The modes existing in a circular waveguide with walls of finite conductivity are investigated and expressions derived for the corrections to the attenuation constant of a piston attenuator. The correction is negligible for E-modes but may be of importance in work of the highest accuracy when H-modes are used.

Parasitic protozoa and bacteria transmitted by vector insects and ticks resist destruction in the intermediate host, possibly through the possession of antigens similar to those of the host. There is no evidence that symbiotic microorganisms have evolved similar eclipsed antigens.

A Multivariate Correction for Attenuation
Biometrika, 1975SUMMARY A method is given for the joint correction for attenuation of all pairwise correlations among p variates, subject to the restriction that the resulting correlation matrix be at least positive-semidefinite. The errors need not be assumed uncorrelated, but their covariance matrix must be positive-definite.

Attenuated hypothesis or attenuated test of hypothesis?
Intelligence, 1985Abstract After discussing several of the criticisms made by Professor Jensen, it is concluded that the Spearman hypothesis, as currently worded, has been disconfirmed. The near-zero correlation between blacks and low socio-economic status (SES) whites is not an artifact of the methodology. Neither is it a sampling fluke.

We investigated aligning a transmission (T) scan with a subsequent emission contaminated transmission (T+E) scan. This would permit correction for patient motion and thereby use of a single T scan to correct E scans taken hours or days apart.Scans from 15 patients were used to produce 200 T scans contaminated with two levels of either [18F ...

Several possibilities based on the principles of scattering and polarization of light in liquid crystals (LCs) and PLZT ceramics were studied for the replacement of mechanical shutters and attenuators in optical instruments. A scatter-mode LC was selected as the active material, and two modules were developed for fiber optic attenuator applications. In

Inversion for the Attenuated Radon Transform with Constant Attenuation
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1984An exact form of the inversion formula for the attenuated Radon transform with constant attenuation in a convex domain for use in Single-Photon Computerized Tomography is presented. This problem is reduced to solving a generalized Abel integral equation and the conditions for the existence of a unique continuous solution are given.

Double step attenuation measurement technique for high attenuation of variable attenuators
2012 Conference on Precision electromagnetic Measurements, 2012An accurate solution of a double step attenuation measurement technique with an internal gauge block for variable attenuators is presented. The solution is obtained by solving the signal flow graph of the circuit model with a small reflection coefficient (<0.1) on each I/O port. Experimental results both of low and high attenuation values show good
