Resolving Complex Multiscale Structure of Magneto‐ and Electroactive Polymer Composites With an Ionic Liquid

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale ionic liquid segregation into nano‐sized domains in the unconfined amorphous polymer phase and into micron‐sized pores enables a coupled magneto‐ and electroactive responses. ABSTRACT A multiscale understanding of the structure of ionogels – nanoparticle‐free polymer composites incorporating ionic liquids – is essential for enhancing their ...

Science‐Towards‐Technology Breakthrough in CO2 Electroreduction: Multiphysics, Multiscale, and Artificial Intelligence Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electrochemical CO2RR is a key technology for converting CO2 into chemicals, but there remains a gap between “laboratory science” and “engineering practice” in current research. This review establishes a multi‐scale research framework, encompassing atomic‐level characterization, microenvironment regulation, external field‐assisted optimization, and AI ...

LEAD: Literature Enhanced Ab Initio Discovery of Nitride Dusting Layers for Enhanced Tunnel Magnetoresistance and Lower Resistance Magnetic Tunnel Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

Liquid Metal Microrobots for Magnetically Guided Transvascular Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid metal‐based microrobots combine magnetic steering, intrinsic X‐ray visibility and softness, to navigate blood vessels even against flow. Under clinically relevant magnetic fields, liquid metal microrobots roll along vessel walls, cross endothelial barriers, and accumulate in target tissues.

Attenuation Correction in Echocardiography

Ultrasonic Imaging, 1986
A commercial two-dimensional echo unit, modified to permit digital acquisition (2.2 MHz) of echo signals prior to time-gain-compensation (TGC), was ratiometrically calibrated. Simulating the TGC in software, we demonstrated improvements in image quality as compared to conventional video methods. A path-dependent attenuation correction (PDAC) algorithm,

Measured attenuation correction methods

European Journal of Nuclear Medicine, 1989
Accurate attenuation correction is a prerequisite for the determination of exact local radioactivity concentrations in positron emission tomography. Attenuation correction factors range from 4-5 in brain studies to 50-100 in whole body measurements. This report gives an overview of the different methods of determining the attenuation correction factors

A Multivariate Correction for Attenuation

Biometrika, 1975
SUMMARY A method is given for the joint correction for attenuation of all pairwise correlations among p variates, subject to the restriction that the resulting correlation matrix be at least positive-semidefinite. The errors need not be assumed uncorrelated, but their covariance matrix must be positive-definite.

Attenuation corrected cardiac perfusion SPECT

Current Opinion in Cardiology, 2000
Image artifacts, especially those caused by photon attenuation, commonly affect the specificity of cardiac SPECT perfusion imaging. Although often suspected by characteristic patterns identified in female and male patients respectively, the widely variable body habitus of individual patients are associated with unpredictable variations in tissue ...

An introduction to attenuation correction

Journal of Nuclear Cardiology, 1999
Attenuation correction techniques have demonstrated improved diagnostic accuracy and quality of myocardial perfusion SPECT images in limited studies. The future success of these methods relies largely on understanding the characteristics of the images and their interpretative meaning, as well as their limitations.
