Metabolic Syndrome and Dementia Risk in Older Adults: A Narrative Review
The Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Dementia is a major global health issue in aging societies. Metabolic syndrome (MetS), a cluster of metabolic abnormalities, has been proposed as a modifiable risk factor for dementia, although existing evidence remains inconsistent. This review examined recent studies on the association between MetS and dementia risk in older adults.

Secularism, Gender and Masculinity in Nineteenth‐Century Cremation in Europe and the USA
Gender &History, EarlyView.ABSTRACT This essay explores, from transnational perspectives, the early history of modern cremation, which developed in the long nineteenth century with secularist connotations. I argue that the beginnings of modern cremation were shaped by bourgeois men who claimed certain identifiers for themselves in a gendering and Othering way.
