Dynamic attitude estimator for attitude and heading reference systems based on vector observations
2016 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation (ICIA), 2016A novel attitude estimator for applications under dynamic conditions is proposed in this paper, which is based on the vector observations of gravity, geomagnetic field, and angular velocity. After a brief review of the existing solutions for attitude estimation and external acceleration rejection, we adopt the deviation of attitude, gyro bias, and ...

Rotation and acceleration based adaptation for attitude and heading reference system
2013 21st Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2013In this paper, a new adaptive method is proposed for Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) using MEMS IMU sensors. In this work, Euler angles calculation using gyro-scope outputs is combined with the estimation of these angles by using accelerometer and magnetometer. Kalman filtering technique is used for this fussion.

Design and implementation of an Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS)
2011 8th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Computing Science and Automatic Control, 2011This paper deals with the development and implementation of a cheap Micro Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) using low-cost inertial and magnetic sensors. The orientation is parameterized with unit quaternion and the data fusion is done unifying a quaternion linear formulation of Wahba's problem with a Multiplicative Extended Kalman Filter ...

Survey on Attitude and Heading Reference Systems for Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems
2014 International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (ICUAS), 2014Attitude estimation is a critical task for the safe navigation of RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System). When no 3D positioning information is available, e.g. due to GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) blockage, the autopilot must use data from the rest of the onboard navigation sensors to fly the RPAS in a stable manner and reduce potential ...

GPS aided attitude and heading reference system using MEMS sensors
2016 Indian Control Conference (ICC), 2016Extended Kalman filter (EKF) solution for attitude and heading estimation was proposed with code phase GPS measurements aiding the micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS) Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). The estimation was carried out assuming GPS update rates of 1, 4, 5 and 10 Hz while the IMU update rate was assumed to be 40 Hz.

Attitude and Heading Reference System for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
2019The methods that have been used in navigation over the centuries have changed as have the goals they serve. One of these methods is inertial navigation. Nowadays inertial navigation offers many advantages over other types of navigation. A major advantage is the lack of dependence on external transmitters or other devices, which means independence of ...

IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, 2017
In this paper, a computational efficient attitude estimation method is proposed for the low-cost attitude and heading reference systems. In the proposed method, the velocity and position provided by the Global Positioning System and inertial sensors outputs are first used to construct the vector observations.
