Edible Pneumatic Battery for Sustained and Repeated Robot Actuation
This work presents an edible energy source and valve system to power soft, pneumatically driven edible robots. A chemical reaction between sodium bicarbonate and citric acid generates carbon dioxide gas, and a pressure‐triggered edible valve enables self‐repetitive motion of the edible actuator.

Principles for Rigorous Design and Application of Synthetic Microbial Communities
SynComs are artificially designed to enable inter‐species metabolic interactions, metabolic division of labor, and ecological interactions that can elicit phenotypes like colonization stability and environmental adaptation. This systematic review explores the processes used to construct SynComs, the assessment of the mechanisms of metabolic interaction

A Bait Attractant Study of the Nitidulidae (Coleoptera) at Shawnee State Forest in Southern Ohio [PDF]
Four baits were tested for efficacy in attracting sap beetles (Nitidulidae) at two sites in the Shawnee State Forest over two collection periods in 1992. Species taken were categorized into three groups: abundant, moderate, and uncommon.

Engineering New‐to‐Nature Biological Pathways for β,γ‐Alkanediol Synthesis
β,γ‐Alkanediols are value‐added chemicals to be used as functional solvents, biofuels, and cosmetic components. This work demonstrates a carboligation‐mediated approach for synthesis of linear chain β,γ‐alkanediols in Escherichia coli, namely, hexane‐2,3‐diol (2,3‐HDO) and pentane‐2,3‐diol (2,3‐PDO). The engineered E. coli cells produce 152.2 mm (17.98
