Attribute-Based Access Control Models and Beyond

Proceedings of the 10th ACM Symposium on Information, Computer and Communications Security, 2015
This talk will provide a perspective on attribute-based access control (ABAC). The ongoing authorization leap from rights to attributes offers numerous compelling benefits. Decisions about user, subject, object and context attributes can be made relatively independently and with suitable decentralization appropriate for each attribute.

A Correct-by-Construction Model for Attribute-Based Access Control

2018
In this paper, a formal specification approach of the Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) is proposed using the Event-B method. We apply an a-priori formal verification to build a correct model in a stepwise manner. Correctness of the specification model is insured during the construction steps.

A Task-Attribute-Based Workflow Access Control Model

2013 IEEE International Conference on Green Computing and Communications and IEEE Internet of Things and IEEE Cyber, Physical and Social Computing, 2013
Access control is one of the security issues of the workflow system. Because of the task-role-based access control policy in the deficiencies of system's security, versatility and flexibility, we propose a task-attribute-based access control model (T-ABAC).

Towards Policy Engineering for Attribute-Based Access Control

2013
Attribute-based Access Control (ABAC) was recently proposed as a general model which is able to capture the main existing access control models. This paper discusses the problems of configuring ABAC and engineering access policies. We question how to design attributes, how to assign attributes to subjects, objects, actions, and how to formulate access ...

ABAC: Attribute-Based Access Control

2013
Cloud storage service allows data owner to outsource their data to the cloud and through which provide the data access to the users. Because the cloud server and the data owner are not in the same trust domain, the semi-trusted cloud server cannot be relied to enforce the access policy. To address this challenge, traditional methods usually require the

Attributed based access control (ABAC) for Web services

IEEE International Conference on Web Services (ICWS'05), 2005
For companies and government agencies alike, the emergence of Web services technologies and the evolution of distributed systems toward service oriented architectures (SOA) have helped promote collaboration and information sharing by breaking down "stove-piped" systems and connecting them via loosely coupled, interoperable system-to-system interfaces ...

Deconflicting Policies in Attribute-Based Access Control Systems

2018 IEEE 5th International Congress on Information Science and Technology (CiSt), 2018
Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) is a promising next generation access control model that can bring great benefit in the context of sharing and securing sensitive data. However, such systems are complex to analyze and usually suffer from anomalies and conflicts between security policies.

RABAC: Role-Centric Attribute-Based Access Control

2012
Role-based access control (RBAC) is a commercially dominant model, standardized by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Although RBAC provides compelling benefits for security management it has several known deficiencies such as role explosion, wherein multiple closely related roles are required (e.g., attending-doctor role is ...

Attribute-Based Privacy-Friendly Access Control with Context

2017
In the last decade, the Internet landscape transformed into a service platform. This evolution has brought more importance to security requirements like strong authentication. We propose a secure and privacy-friendly way to augment authentication mechanisms of Online services by taking context into account.
