Attributes: Selective Learning and Influence

Econometrica
An agent selectively samples attributes of a complex project so as to influence the decision of a principal. The players disagree about the weighting, or relevance, of attributes. The correlation across attributes is modeled through a Gaussian process, the covariance function of which captures pairwise attribute similarity.

On Soft Partition Attribute Selection

2012
Rough set theory provides a methodology for data analysis based on the approximation of information systems. It is revolves around the notion of discernibility i.e. the ability to distinguish between objects based on their attributes value. It allows inferring data dependencies that are useful in the fields of feature selection and decision model ...

Selective facilitation of memory attributes by strychnine

Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 1977
In two experiments, the effects of strychnine on the specific memory attributes of prior discrimination training were assessed in terms of subjects' performance under various discrimination reversal conditions. Mice were trained in a discrimination task with two redundant relevant cues.

Loan Selection, Attribute Substitution and Information Effect

Review of Behavioral Finance, 2023
PurposeBorrowers are usually presented with a menu of similar-looking options when selecting a loan plan. However, it remains unclear whether they are able to choose the most cost-effective plan. This study aims to investigate whether people select loan plans optimally, whether their choices are influenced by the informational cues provided to them and

Attribute Selection Method

2009
It is well known fact that proteins are grouped in families according to their structure, function and ancestry. Proteins that evolve from a common ancestor can have modified functionalities. So, we divide protein families into subfamilies according to the modified functionality.

Feature selections for authorship attribution

Proceedings of the 28th Annual ACM Symposium on Applied Computing, 2013
The authorship attribution (AA) problem can be viewed as a categorization problem. To determine the most effective features to discriminate between different authors, we have evaluated six independent feature-scoring selection functions (information gain, pointwise mutual information, odds ratio, χ2, DIA, and the document frequency (df)).

Attribute selection on student performance dataset using maximum dependency attribute

2017 5th International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Information Engineering (ICEEIE), 2017
As a higher education institution, knowing which GPA of the semester has the most determinant to affecting the academic performance of students is important yet challenging. Therefore, this paper deliberates the usage of rough set theory based Maximum Dependency Attributes (MDA). The dataset is taken from the Directorate of Information Systems (SISFO),

Attribute and object selection queries on objects with probabilistic attributes

ACM Transactions on Database Systems, 2012
Modern data processing techniques such as entity resolution, data cleaning, information extraction, and automated tagging often produce results consisting of objects whose attributes may contain uncertainty. This uncertainty is frequently captured in the form of a set of multiple mutually exclusive value choices for each uncertain ...
