Reflection of terms in attribute grammars: Design and applications
Journal of Computer Languages, 2021Abstract This paper shows how reflection on undecorated syntax trees (terms) used in attribute grammars can significantly reduce the amount of boiler-plate specifications that must be written. The proposed reflection system is implemented in the form of a function mapping terms and other values into a generic representation and a function for

Reliability of attribute prediction in small craft concept design
2011A multi-attribute concept design procedure, as developed at the University of Zagreb, is applied to the small craft. Specialized concept design models of several generic types, e.g. mono-hull ferry, catamaran ferry, fishing vessel, fast SAR, patrol and paramilitary craft, were developed and included into a multi-attribute design procedure.

Modified Dendrogram of Attribute Space for Multidimensional Transfer Function Design
IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, 2012We introduce a modified dendrogram (MD) (with subtrees to represent clusters) and display it in 2D for multidimensional transfer function design. Such a transfer function for direct volume rendering employs a multidimensional space, termed attribute space. The MD reveals the hierarchical structure information of the attribute space. The user can design

Mapping the diversity of forest attributes: a design-based approach
Canadian Journal of Forest Research, 2019Forest attributes such as volume or basal area are concentrated at tree locations and are absent elsewhere. It is, therefore, more meaningful to consider the amount of forest attributes at a prefixed spatial grain, within regular plots of prefixed size centered at the points of the study area. In this way, the diversity of attributes within plots also

Security Implications of Physical Design Attributes in the Emergency Department
HERD: Health Environments Research & Design Journal, 2016Background: Security, a subset of safety, is equally important in the efficient delivery of patient care. The emergency department (ED) is susceptible to violence creating concerns for the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors and for the safe and efficient delivery of care.

Viral Design: Conceptual Contributions to Architectural Attributes of Space Station Design
41st International Conference on Environmental Systems, 2011This paper highlights a conceptual space architecture design project that was approached by advanced students of architecture. Two primary considerations of the project are discussed including: 1) the viral conceptual design contributions to the field of space architecture and 2) the educational value of space architecture to students of architecture ...

The Effect of Gang-of-Four Design Patterns Usage on Design Quality Attributes
2017 IEEE International Conference on Software Quality, Reliability and Security (QRS), 2017Context: In the plethora of studies, it has been empirically investigated that the incidence of design pattern instances can be considered as an indicator to elaborate the software design. The developers, who have more concern with design quality, are interested to know the effect of use intensity of design patterns on the system level design quality ...

Improving the Design Process by Predicting Downstream Values of Design Attributes
Volume 4: 8th International Conference on Design Theory and Methodology, 1996Abstract This paper presents a computational approach to developing design space models that are utilized to improve the design process by predicting values of downstream design attributes based on information available at early stages, such as preliminary design specifications.

Stated and inferred attribute non-attendance in a design of designs approach
Journal of Choice Modelling, 2014Attribute non-attendance in stated choice experiments (CE) has gained attention in literature, with some studies finding that not all respondents attend to all attributes. While the current studies show that taking non-attendance into account can significantly influence survey results, it is not yet clear what motivates respondents to ignore or pay ...

The design of interactive multi-attribute reverse auction system
2009 Chinese Control and Decision Conference, 2009In recent years, with the vigorous development of electronic commerce, auction on-line become more and more flourish, but, auction on-line only is used to publish auction announcement, and haven't to realize real auction. In this case, a real auction system is needed to help auctioneer finish auction process.
