Descripciones definidas y negociación del significado : un punto de vista conversacional
In this paper, the reader will find a critical review of Donnellan's well-known distinction between the 'referential' and the 'attributive' uses of definite descriptions. In this respect, Kripke's (1979) and Searle's (1979) proposals are examined.

The adjective: an eminently syncategorematic part of speech
In this article we propose an alternative to the theories which subdivide the adjective into three major types (qualifier, relational, adjective of the third type), themselves subdivided into several subclasses.

Constrained Semi-Supervised Learning Using Attributes and Comparative Attributes [PDF]
We consider the problem of semi-supervised bootstrap learning for scene categorization. Existing semi-supervised approaches are typically unreliable and face semantic drift because the learning task is under-constrained. This is primarily because they ignore the strong interactions that often exist between scene categories, such as the common ...

Explaining Visual Classification using Attributes [PDF]
The performance of deep Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) has been reaching or even exceeding the human level on large number of tasks. Some examples are image classification, Mastering Go game, speech understanding etc. However, their lack of decomposability into intuitive and understandable components make them hard to interpret, i.e.

Identifying concept attributes using a classifier [PDF]
We developed a novel classification of concept attributes and two supervised classifiers using this classification to identify concept attributes from candidate attributes extracted from the Web. Our binary (attribute / non-attribute) classifier achieves an accuracy of 81.82% whereas our 5-way classifier achieves 80.35%.

Multifont classification using typographical attributes [PDF]
This paper introduces a multifont classification scheme to help with the recognition of multifont and multisize characters. It uses typographical attributes such as ascenders, descenders and serifs obtained from a word image. The attributes are used as an input to a neural network classifier to produce the multifont classification results.
