Summary: Background: Atypical lipomatous tumor (ALT) is a low-grade malignancy that frequently occurs at a subfascial anatomical location. While marginal excision is adequate for lipomas, excision with a surgical margin is suggested for ALTs.

Hibernoma Mimicking Atypical Lipomatous Tumor: 64 Cases of a Morphologically Distinct Subset. [PDF]
Hibernoma is a benign adipocytic tumor with predilection for subcutaneous tissue of the thigh, upper trunk, and neck of middle-aged adults. 11q13 rearrangement resulting in MEN1/AIP codeletion is characteristic. Hibernomas are composed, in varying proportions, of brown fat cells, mature adipocytes, and microvacuolated lipoblast-like cells.

Transconjunctival Orbitotomy as Surgical Management of an Orbital Lipoma in a Dog
ABSTRACT Orbital lipomas are rare in dogs and may pose diagnostic and surgical challenges. This report describes the case of a 14‐year‐old female Border Collie presenting chronic exophthalmos caused by a retrobulbar mass. On ophthalmic examination, the animal maintained bilateral vision despite chronic exposure of the right ocular surface.

Giant atypical lipomatous tumors of the thigh: a case series.
Atypical Lipomatous Tumors (ALTs) are low-grade locally aggressive soft tissue tumors. Deep large sized ALTs of the thigh can cause significant functional impairment due to their mass effect. Surgical resection, which is the treatment of choice for these lesions, can be a though procedure, especially if the neoplasm comes in proximity with noble ...

Intracranial Solitary Fibrous Tumors With Glandular and Papillary Structures: A Case Report
ABSTRACT Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a fibroblastic neoplasm with NAB2 and STAT6 gene fusion as well as STAT6 nuclear expression. Uncommon variants of intracranial SFTs, such as glandular and papillary structures, are extremely rare. We present a rare SFT case in a 64‐year‐old female demonstrating unprecedented glandular structures and extensive ...

Oncogenic driver and therapeutic target: Prolactin signalling axis in retroperitoneal sarcoma
Retroperitoneal sarcoma cells can secrete prolactin into the bloodstream, inducing hyperprolactinaemia, which subsequently triggers metabolic reprogramming, such as glucose metabolism. SOX4 can function as a transcription factor that facilitates PRL transcription.

Giant Cervical Lipoma: The First Documented Case Report From Ethiopia
ABSTRACT Lipomas are benign tumors composed of adipose tissue that can occur throughout the body, although a smaller proportion arise in the head and neck region. While typically small, lipomas are classified as giant when exceeding 10 cm. We present a case of a giant posterior cervical lipoma measuring approximately 20 cm, which to our knowledge is ...
