Immunohistochemical Study of Ki-67 Labelling Index in Neoplasms of Central Nervous System [PDF]
Introduction: The central nervous system tumours show a varied histopathological spectrum. The cell proliferation index may provide an objective method for assessing tumour biology. The Ki-67 is considered to be the most reliable proliferative marker

Disseminated extraventricular neurocytoma: Case report and review of literatures
Extraventricular neurocytoma is a rare tumor, and only a small number of case series of extraventricular neurocytoma have been reported. Because of the rarity of extraventricular neurocytoma, especially disseminated cases, it is difficult to diagnose ...

Central Neurocytoma in a Teenager, a Rare Cause of Hemiplegia, and a Diagnostic Dilemma in a Resource-Poor Setting. [PDF]
Background. Central neurocytoma is a benign intraventricular neuroectodermal tumor most often arising in the lateral ventricles. Due to the location of this tumor, common signs and symptoms include obstructive hydrocephalus, recurrent headache, visual impairment, nausea, and vomiting.

Atypical Central Neurocytoma [PDF]
The proliferative potential of central neurocytomas was determined in a biopsy series of 36 cases and compared with clinical outcome. The mean size of the growth fraction, as determined by MIB-1 labeling index (MIB-1 LI) at first biopsy, was 2.8 +/- 2.5 with a range of 0.1 to 8.6%.

Extraventricular Neurocytoma in Parietal Lobe
Extraventricular neurocytoma (EVN) was classified as a World Health Organization (WHO) grade II tumor; however, EVN is not fully understood; it presents a variable histological feature that included oligodendroglioma-like, neuropil-like matrix, ganglion ...

Treatment of atypical neurocytomas [PDF]
AbstractBACKGROUNDThe majority of central neurocytomas are benign. Approximately 25% of these rare central nervous system tumors are more aggressive, with an MIB‐1 labeling index > 2% or atypical histologic features, and are classified as atypical neurocytomas.

Atypical Central Neurocytoma With Sarcomatous Differentiation [PDF]
We report a case of an intraventricular tumor with features of atypical central neurocytoma with a sarcomatous component in a 44-year-old woman who presented with headaches and vomiting. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a 3.4-cm lobulated enhancing mass in the occipital horn of the left lateral ventricle, and the patient subsequently underwent a ...
