Advances in parametric audio coding

Proceedings of the 1999 IEEE Workshop on Applications of Signal Processing to Audio and Acoustics. WASPAA'99 (Cat. No.99TH8452), 2003
Parametric modelling provides an efficient representation of general audio signals and is utilised in very low bit rate audio coding. It is based on the decomposition of an audio signal into components which are described by appropriate source models and represented by model parameters.

Scalable Lossless Audio Coding

2020
This chapter describes scalable lossless audio coding, based on the Integer-to-Integer MDCT (IntMDCT), which allows an exact conversion between integer signal samples and integer subband values. First it describes the theory and Python implementation of the Integer-to-Integer MDCT, and then it goes on to its use in a lossless encoder and decoder, which

The ISO audio coding standard

[Proceedings] GLOBECOM '90: IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference and Exhibition, 2002
An ISO audio coding standard is being developed that will provide an audio quality comparable to that of a compact disc using a reduced bit rate of about 2*128 kb/s for a stereo sound signal instead of 2*706 kb/s. Four coding algorithms have been considered in order to develop the audio coding standard.

Multichannel audio coding

In multichannel audio coding, improved computational efficiency is achieved by computing comparison parameters forITDcompensation between any two channels in the frequency domain for a parametric audio encoder. This may mitigate negative effects on encoder parameter estimates.
