Contemporary Clinical Management of Otosyphilis for Practicing Otolaryngologists—A Scoping Review

Otosyphilis has reemerged alongside increasing syphilis rates, highlighting the need for early recognition to prevent severe audiovestibular complications. A scoping review and retrospective case series indicate that most patients present with hearing loss, tinnitus, or vertigo and typically respond to penicillin‐based treatment.

Efficacy and Safety of Intratympanic Botulinum Toxin Injection on Middle Ear Myoclonic Tinnitus

Intratympanic Botulinum toxin (IT‐BTX) injection appears to be an effective and safe treatment for MEMT, significantly reducing tinnitus‐related symptoms without complications. In a retrospective study of 57 patients, THI scores and VAS measures for loudness, awareness, annoyance, and life impact improved significantly over 6 months.

Patient's Perspective and Change in Quality of Life After Stapes Surgery: A Multicenter Prospective Trial

Abstract Objective This study evaluated outcomes of stapes surgery in otosclerosis patients by assessing audiometric results and health‐related quality of life (HRQOL) using the Dutch Stapesplasty Outcome Test‐25 (SPOT‐25) questionnaire. Additionally, the role of SPOT‐25 in preoperative decision‐making and as a follow‐up tool was explored.
