Pricing and supplier concentration in the private client segment of the audit market : market power or competition ?. [PDF]

open access: yes
This study differs from prior audit pricing-studies as 1) it focuses on the issue of price competition in the (small) private client segment of the audit market, and 2) addresses the question whether and how the audit-pricing model changed in that market

Impact of Virus‐Mediated Modifications in Bacterial Communities on the Accumulation of Soil Organic Carbon

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study illustrates the impact of viruses on carbon cycling in soils with different availabilities of carbon. In conditions of low carbon availability, viruses adopt a lysogenic lifestyle, integrate into the host genomes and facilitate the degradation of carbon.

Low‐Temperature Annealing Triggered Abnormal Strengthening in a Complex Concentration Alloy via Evolutive Short‐Range Ordering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Low‐temperature annealing enhances strength, ductility, and work hardening in CoNiV MEA. This originates from multi‐scale chemical short‐range orderings (SROs) formed during annealing, which promote dislocation slip planarity and reduce entanglement, enabling balanced mechanical properties through ordering strengthening.

Photodegradation of 2D Ruddlesden‐Popper Perovskites: Consequences and Design Principles for Photoelectrochemical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we examined the structural and morphological stability of the 2D perovskite‐phenylethylammonium lead iodide PEA(+)2PbI4 thin films in aqueous electrolytes of phenylethylammonium iodide (PEA(+)I), both in the dark and under illumination.

Bioinspired Prolactin Pulse Release from Responsive Microneedles for Inhibiting Fatty Liver Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the prolactin secretion profile under normal physiological conditions, biomimetic prolactin‐releasing microneedles are designed. Under the control of near infrared (NIR), these responsive microneedles facilitate pulsed release of prolactin to inhibit fatty liver formation.

BiSbF2 Monolayer: A 2D Inversion‐Asymmetric Topological Insulator With Linearly Tunable Giant Spin‐Splitting and Bulk Gap

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The BiSbF2 monolayer is a 2D topological insulator with a large bandgap (252 meV) hosting topological edge states and giant valley‐contrasted spin‐splitting (478 meV). The sizable gap enables room‐temperature quantum spin Hall effects, while its coexisting topological and valleytronic features provide a versatile platform for exploring topological ...

Enhancing Ga─Sb Bonds by GaSb Co‐Doping Ge2Sb2Te5 for High Speed and Thermal Stability Phase Change Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This study reveals that GaSb co‐doping in Ge₂Sb₂Te₅ significantly mitigates unwanted Ga─Ge bonds, achieving an impressive 8 ns phase change speed and enhanced thermal stability up to 196 °C. First‐principles simulations and experimental characterizations demonstrate stable multilevel resistance, paving the way for advanced phase change memory in ...
