AUDITORY SUBLIMINAL STIMULATION: A RE-EXAMINATION
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1992Unconscious or subliminal perception has historically been a thorny issue In psychology. It has been the subject of debate and experimentation since the turn of the century. While psychologists now agree that the phenomenon of visual subliminal stimulation is real, disagreement continues over the effects of such stimulation as well as to its existence ...

Modification of auditory responses by cerebellar stimulation
Experimental Neurology, 1966Abstract Electrical stimuli applied to the auditory area of the cerebellum of the cat evoked responses in the inferior colliculus, medial geniculate nucleus, and auditory areas I, II and ectosylvian posterior gyrus of the cerebrum. Conditioning and test stimuli applied to the cerebellum showed interaction of electrical events in the medial geniculate

Auditory Brainstem Prosthesis: Biocompatability of Stimulation
Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 1989As part of a program to develop a central auditory system prosthesis, we have examined the reaction of tissue to different levels of stimulation from electrodes chronically implanted in the cochlear nucleus of the guinea pig. Tolerance and histologic reaction to 20 hours of periodic electrical stimulation of the cochlear nucleus were analyzed ...

Human laryngeal responses to auditory stimulation
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1983In spite of various claims for the presence and functional significance of brainstem reflexes in phonatory control, very little is known about these reflexes in humans. The present study was aimed at studying auditory-laryngeal reflexes in human subjects during sustained phonation. Fourteen subjects sustained phonation at constant voice pitch and voice

LOUDNESS AS A FUNCTION OF THE DURATION OF AUDITORY STIMULATION
Scandinavian Journal of Psychology, 1966The perceived loudness of a 1000 c/s tone was measured by a direct scaling method under different conditions of intensity (19–35 db) and duration (50–500 msec) of stimulation. It was found that loudness grows as a logarithmic function of stimulus duration; the relation was verified for ten individual subjects and four levels of intensity.

Auditory MEG mismatch responses modified by visual stimulation accompanying auditory stimulation
Neurophysiology, 2012We investigated the effects of visual stimulation on auditory mismatch responses using a magnetoencephalography (MEG) system. Mismatch magnetic fields (MMNms, equivalents of EEG mismatch negativity, MMN) were recorded in 10 healthy subjects under three audio-visual conditions, which consisted of auditory stimulation with a static visual stimulation (A ...

Auditory Performance With simultaneous Intracochlear Multichannel Stimulation
The Laryngoscope, 1991Different sound processing strategies are used in the various cochlear implant designs. This report presents auditory data on 35 patients implanted at the University of Utah from April 1984 to April 1989. A multichannel monopolar electrode system is inserted intracochlearly.

[The effect of auditory stimulation on the development of auditory functio].
Lin chuang er bi yan hou tou jing wai ke za zhi = Journal of clinical otorhinolaryngology head and neck surgery, 2018Summary Auditory stimulation is very important in the process of audiroty system development.Auditory deprivation impedes the development and maturation of auditory system.Cochlear implantation is the most effective measure to improve the auditory function of prelingual deafness patients.Recently researchs indicate that the age of operation and the ...

Electrical Stimulation of the Auditory Nerve in Man
Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, 1966Introduction THIS is basically a case report on long-term direct electrical stimulation of the auditory nerve in man. The report is supplemented by some historical facts, and by selected comments on electrophysiology, physical chemistry, and perceptual psychology.
