Circadian Variability of Auditory Threshold

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1963
Recently, Neuberger and Schmid [Archiv Ohren- Nasen- u. Kehlkopfheilk. ver. Z. Hals- Nasen- u. Ohrenheilk. 179, 237-258 (1962)] reported that the auditory threshold shows a circadian (diurnal) variability, being 10–15 dB higher (less sensitive) at midnight than at noon.

[Auditory threshold for white noise].

Annales d'oto-laryngologie et de chirurgie cervico faciale : bulletin de la Societe d'oto-laryngologie des hopitaux de Paris, 1976
The liminal auditory threshold for white noise and for coloured noise was determined from a statistical survey of a group of 21 young people with normal hearing. The normal auditory threshold for white noise with a spectrum covering the whole of the auditory field is between -- 0.57 dB +/- 8.78. The normal auditory threshold for bands of filtered white

Response behavior around auditory threshold.

Journal of the American Auditory Society, 1980
Normal adults, hearing-impaired preschool children, and normal-hearing mentally retarded children were assessed across repeated measures for auditory thresholds at 250 and 1000 Hz. Each subject's total performance across repeated measures was plotted by group by frequency relative to the last point of 100% correct response and interpolated thresholds ...
