The adsorption of nitric oxide on a silicon (100) 2 × 1 surface studied with Auger electron spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
We present an Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) study of the adsorption of nitric oxide (NO) on a clean Si(100)2 × 1 surface at 300 and 550 K. Accurate measurement reeveal well resolved fine structure at Auger SiL2.3VV transitions at 62 and 83 eV.

A Mechanistic Blueprint for Fast, High‐Yield Green Scintillators Using Conjugated Polymer–Nanocrystal Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conjugated polymer–nanocrystal composites are investigated to develop fast, high‐yield green scintillators. The polymer F8BT enables efficient, ultrafast emission, while blends with non‐emitting HfO2 nanocrystals and luminescent CdZnS/ZnS quantum dots reveal distinct sensitization mechanisms.

Taming the Immiscibility of Gold, Iron, and Boron to Craft Chemodegradable Nanoparticles for Multimodal Imaging and Radiotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Over half of cancer patients undergo radiotherapy. Laser ablation enabled the synthesis of immiscible Au‐Fe‐B nanoparticles designed as degradable bimodal radiosensitizers for X‐ray radiotherapy (XRT), boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), and bimodal imaging for X‐ray computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These nanosensitizers

Tuning Amorphous‐Crystalline Catalytic Interfaces by Mechanochemistry: Cu‐Based Metallic Glasses Coupled with Ceria for CO Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ball‐milling Cu‐based metallic glasses with ceria creates a unique nanostructure where metallic glass particles are wrapped by CeO2 nanoparticles. The intimate integration triggers copper state reorganization during reaction and aging, boosting CO oxidation and COPrOx activity.

GRAIN-BOUNDARY SULPHUR SEGREGATION AND EMBRITTLEMENT OF HIGH-PURITY NICKEL

open access: yesВестник. Серия физическая, 2010
Sulphur grain boundary segregation in vacuum-melted nickel of a special production probe were studied by Auger Electron Spectroscopy. Heat-treated samples of high-purity Ni were electrolytically deuterium doped and fractured by tension and measuring the

$\textit{Ab initio}$ calculation of the calorimetric electron capture spectrum of $^{163}$Holmium: Intra-atomic decay into bound-states

open access: yes, 2018
The determination of the electron neutrino mass by electron capture in $^{163}$Ho relies on a precise understanding of the deexcitation of a core hole after an electron capture event.

Mechanisms of Auger-induced chemistry derived from wave packet dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
To understand how core ionization and subsequent Auger decay lead to bond breaking in large systems, we simulate the wave packet dynamics of electrons in the hydrogenated diamond nanoparticle C_(197)H_(112).
