Topographic compensation in auger electron spectroscopy.
Abstract The scanning Auger microprobe (SAM) produces Auger images which provide information on the elemental distribution of specimen surfaces. However specimen topography affects the data obtained. To eliminate the topographical effect, the peak‐to‐background ratio, ( P −

Conjugated poly(imide dioxime)‐based microspheres establish a radiometal coordination‐driven conformational interlocked network with ultra‐high radiostability. This platform enables low‐temperature, multi‐radionuclide labeling for SPECT/PET/MRI imaging and radionuclide therapy. Mechanistic insights from EXAFS and DFT reveal enhanced stability, while in

Interactive Strength between C60 Thin Film and Si(001) and Its Influence on Nano-Scaled Tribology
The influences of interactions between C60 thin films and Si substrates were investigated using atomic force microscopy (AFM). It was found that higher friction coefficient was obtained at the C60 domains formed on the H-terminated Si(001) substrate and ...

Current Collector Engineering for New Efficient Bioresorbable Sodium‐Ion Batteries
A bioresorbable Na‐ion battery is proposed with Mo or Mg thin‐film current collectors for temporary implants. Mo‐based batteries exhibit superior electrochemical performance and stable cycling compared with Mg counterparts. XPS was used to investigate the Mo/Mg surface oxidation.

Adaptive Cu Reconstruction in Heterostructure Drives High‐Rate Nitrate‐to‐Ammonia Conversion
An adaptively reconstructed Cu/CoOX heterojunction, featuring a surface‐localized, hydroxyl‐rich oxidized Cu species, forms in situ from a CuO/CoOX (Co1Cu9OX) pre‐catalyst during electrochemical nitrate reduction. The self‐adaptive reconstruction and the incorporation of heterostructure regulate nitrogen‐containing intermediate adsorption and *H supply,

Positron annihilation induced Auger electron spectroscopy [PDF]
A review is given on the results of PAES (positron annihilation induced Auger Electron Spectroscopy) studies to data, with a concentration on those results obtained at the University of Texas at Arlington. Low energy positions, trapped in a surface localized state annihilate with core electrons resulting in the emission of Auger electrons.

A chlorine‐functionalized silane modifier (CPTMS) is introduced to cooperatively regulate CO2 reduction to C2+ products on Cu‐based catalysts. Dual‐functional interface sequentially enhances CO2 activation, intermediates protonation and C─C coupling, delivering a 5‐fold increase in C2+ faradaic efficiency (FE, 75% vs.
