Studies of Composition of Surfaces and Interfaces with the Use of Auger Electron Spectroscopy
Processes leading to the Auger electron emission from the sample bombarded with a primary electron beam are discussed. It is shown that every element has its characteristic spectrum of Auger lines, and that owing to a small inelastic mean free path of ...

A Gd‐doped Cu2O electrocatalyst disrupts rigid interfacial hydrogen‐bonding networks, creating a free‐water‐rich microenvironment. This accelerates proton‐coupled electron transfer, enabling selective high‐rate CO2‐to‐ethanol conversion with 48.5% Faradaic efficiency at industrially relevant current densities.

Auger Electron Spectroscopy-A Review
Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) is surface sensitive analytical technique mainly,it provides quantitative elemental and chemical state information from surfaces of solid materials. It utilizes a high current, finely focused electron beam as an excitation source. In AES,A sample is probed with electron beam with energy between 3 to 3o Kev which results ...

Electron energy-loss spectroscopy: DFT modelling and application to experiment [PDF]
The all-electron density functional theory (DFT) code Wien2k has an established track record of modelling energy-loss near-edge structure (ELNES). The pseudopotential DFT code CASTEP can reproduce results found using Wien2k.

Tribological Behaviour of Bonded Solid Lubricant Film in Air and in Vacuum
The friction tests of inorganic bonded composite solid lubricant films (WS2, graphite, BN) were performed in laboratory air and in 10-4 Pa vacuum. The wear traces and transfer films were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Auger ...
