Home hemodialysis : is there still room for high dialysis solution flow rate ?
The availability in France, for the last decade, of low dialysate flow rate hemodialysis monitors, specifically adapted for daily hemodialysis (5 to 6 sessions per week), is contemporary with a real renewal of home hemodialysis.

An electrochromic device (ECD) based on a LiTaO3 (LTO) solid electrolyte is developed with a magenetron sputtering system. The LTO solid electrolyte‐based ECD demonstrates outstanding long‐term stability (less than 12% degradation after 3000 cycles) and fast response times (coloring: 4.13 s, bleaching: 6.14 s).

Carbodiimides act as competent electrophilic synthons for the chemoselective addition of lithium mono‐ and di‐halocarbenoids. The transformation is provided through a single synthetic operation—hitherto elusive—halogenated acetamidines. Interestingly, the constitutively tamed electrophilicity of the starting materials is effectively counterbalanced by ...

The UARS microwave limb sounder version 5 data set: Theory, characterization, and validation [PDF]
Nitric acid (HNO3) is a major player in processes controlling the springtime depletion of polar ozone. It is the main constituent of the Polar Stratospheric Clouds (PSCs) and a primary reservoir for reactive nitrogen.

Through a case study on the interaction between artificial intelligence (Ai) and Irish traditional music, we investigate contested issues of artistic agency and the meaning of the "authentic" in a world of Ai-generated music. We consider musical authenticity from three perspectives: 1) the source/cause of art; 2) the art itself; and 3) the recipient ...

The halide motif is ubiquitous in organic synthesis, facilitating fine‐tuning of molecular properties and functionalization using substitution and cross‐coupling reactions. Combination of different flavin‐dependent tryptophan halogenases enables the installation of novel halogenation patterns on l‐tryptophan, which can be orthogonally addressed in ...

In SETD2‐mutant ccRCC, the original LEDGF recognition of the H3K36me3 regulatory axis no longer exists. LEDGF interacts with CARM1‐dependent H3R17me2a regulating the transcription of key enzymes in the de novo synthesis pathway. The abnormally elevated LEDGF leads to the accumulation of purine nucleotides in SETD2‐mutant ccRCC, thereby satisfying the ...

Does the Balance of Power Within a Family Matter? The Case of the Retirement Equity Act [PDF]
This paper studies within-family decision making regarding investment in income protection for surviving spouses. A change in US pension law (the Retirement Equity Act of 1984) is used as an instrument to derive predictions both from a simple Nash ...

A Two‐Protein Chemoreceptor Complex Regulates Oxygen Thresholds in Bacterial Magneto‐Aerotaxis
Magnetotactic bacteria align with Earth's magnetic field, helping them migrate toward low‐oxygen environments. This study reveals how Magnetospirillum gryphiswaldense uses a specialized flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD)‐dependent chemoreceptor, composed of two interacting proteins, for precise navigation in oxygen gradients.
