Quantitative equidistribution for certain quadruples in quasi-random groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In a recent paper (arXiv:1211.6372), Bergelson and Tao proved that if $G$ is a $D$-quasi-random group, and $x$,$g$ are drawn uniformly and independently from $G$, then the quadruple $(g,x,gx,xg)$ is roughly equidistributed in the subset of $G^4$ defined ...

Layer‐Dependent Antiferromagnetic Chern and Axion Insulating States in UOTe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Layer‐dependent topological phases are identified in the van der Waals antiferromagnet UOTe. Ab initio calculations reveal bilayer UOTe as a rare example of high‐temperature antiferromagnetic Chern insulator with quantized Hall conductivity and near‐zero net magnetization, while odd‐layer films exhibit axion‐insulator‐like behavior with quantized spin ...

Alternating High‐Fat and Polysaccharide Diets Modulates Gut Phage‐Bacterial Interplay

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals how alternating high‐fat and polysaccharide diets reshape the human gut virome and enhance phage‐bacteria interactions. Using large‐scale metagenomic meta‐analysis and a time‐resolved mouse model, the authors show that diets strongly modulate phage abundance, lifestyle, and gene exchange, offering new insights into nutrition‐guided ...

History and growth of the food trailer scene of Austin, Texas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
textWhat began as small taco carts on South Lamar and catering trucks at construction sites in Austin, Texas, local entrepreneurs have recently taken the idea of mobile food and expanded it into a regional phenomenon. This report focuses on the range of

Adipocyte‐Derived Exosomal miR‐5099 Mitigates M1 Macrophage Polarization and Adipose Inflammation via c‐Met/NF‐κB Axis to Improve Metabolic Health

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Celastrol upregulates adipocyte‐derived exosomal miR‐5099, suppressing the macrophage c‐Met/NF‐κB axis to mitigate pro‐inflammatory M1 polarization and adipose inflammation. These miR‐5099‐enriched exosomes also act as endocrine signals targeting the liver, muscle, and adipocytes to significantly enhance systemic insulin sensitivity.

A Good Age [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
The difference between a dream and reality, in many cases, is a simple but difficult thing, hard work. In the following pages, Bert Kruger Smith chronicles the efforts of one very determined group of people in converting their dream into reality.

Selective Lithium Recovery via Photothermal Evaporation and Hydration‐Controlled Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bilayer Mo‐LDH@Sponge composite is developed to couple interfacial photothermal evaporation with hydration‐controlled lithium adsorption. Solar‐induced heating dynamically regulates Li+ hydration and transport, enabling selective lithium capture from saline water. This work provides mechanistic insight into photothermal–adsorption coupling for energy‐

RAZÓN, ACCIÓN Y DEBILIDAD DE LA VOLUNTAD. UNA LECTURA SEMÁNTICA

open access: yesIdeas y Valores, 2010
Este artículo desarrolla algunas de las ideas de Austin sobre las excusas destacando su carácter "dimensional" y conectándolo con la distinción de Searle entre intención en la acción e intención previa, para mostrar que la distinción modelada por el acto

Why Computational Photochemistry Is Challenging and Will Probably Remain So: A Quantum Chemist's Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Computational Photochemistry has made great strides in recent decades, but the investigation of larger molecules remains a challenge due to the inherent dilemma between the increasing computational accuracy required as the molecule size increases and the inevitable explosion in computational effort.
