NUAK2 Inhibition Enhances Macromolecular Drug Delivery in a 3D Fibrotic Model of the Pancreatic Tumor Microenvironment

Using a 3D cell culture model of the fibrotic barrier in pancreatic cancer, this work shows that inhibiting NUAK2 kinase in pancreatic stellate cells enhances macromolecular drug delivery. Mechanistically, NUAK2 inhibition disrupted actin stress fiber assembly to downregulate collagen I expression, thus enhancing macromolecular permeability.

Abstract The cliff‐edge model of obstetric selection maintains that larger neonates and smaller birth canals confer a positive selective advantage until labor becomes obstructed and vaginal delivery is no longer possible, eliciting an abrupt reduction in fitness.

Distinct Effects of Complement C4A and C4B Copy Numbers in Systemic Sclerosis Serological and Clinical Subtypes

Objective Complement component 4 (C4), encoded by C4A and C4B within the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) on chromosome 6, regulates the immune response and clears immune complexes. The variable copy number (CN) of C4 genes and retroviral human endogenous retrovirus K (HERV‐K) element influence its function.
