Algorithmic Metatheorems for Decidable LTL Model Checking over Infinite Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
By algorithmic metatheorems for a model checking problem P over infinite-state systems we mean generic results that can be used to infer decidability (possibly complexity) of P not only over a specific class of infinite systems, but over a large family ...

DigiChrom: A Domain Ontology for Semantic Representation of Trivalent Chromium Platings and Its Large Language Model‐Based Alignment With Multiple Mid‐Level Ontologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Digitalizing electroplating requires both domain knowledge and interoperability. This work introduces PlatOn, a domain ontology for trivalent chromium plating and coating characterization, and a hybrid pipeline that aligns it to a mid‐level reference ontology by combining eight similarity metrics with language model reasoning. Expert‐validated mappings

Symmetry Reduced Model Checking for B [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Symmetry reduction is a technique that can help alleviate the problem of state space explosion in model checking. The idea is to verify only a subset of states from each class (orbit) of symmetric states.

Isotopic Fingerprinting: A Promising Tool for Coffee Authenticity Checks

open access: yesInternational Coffee Convention 2023, 2023
Almost every physical or chemical process in nature favors certain light stable isotopes over others, and thereby leaves an isotopic “fingerprint” on the substances involved. Prominent examples are the evaporation and condensation of water, which act together to produce a global “map” of hydrogen and oxygen isotopes in rainwater.

Microstructure Modification of Additively Manufactured Mo–9Si–8B by Annealing and Its Effects on High‐Temperature Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Postbuild annealing systematically modifies the phase fractions and morphology of EB‐PBF processed Mo–9Si–8B. Quantitative microstructure–property correlations reveal how controlled phase evolution enhances high‐temperature compressive strength and creep resistance.

Machine Learning and Conceptual Reasoning for Inconsistency Detection

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
This paper focuses on detecting inconsistencies within text corpora. It is a very interesting area with many applications. Most existing methods deal with this problem using complicated textual analysis, which is known for not being accurate enough.

Investigating the Low‐Temperature Phase Stability of the Binary Ta–W System

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Atomistic simulations show that the binary Ta–W system forms ordered intermetallic phases, B2‐TaW and D03‐TaW3, as 0 K ground states. Configurational entropy, however, lowers the free energy of the disordered bcc solid solution, which becomes the stable phase above about 400 K.
