Trace Sulfur‐Doping Boosts NiCo Heterostructured Catalyst for Selective Glycerol‐to‐Formic Acid Electroreforming

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A sulfur‐doped Ni–Co heterostructured catalyst is rationally designed to regulate interfacial electronic and adsorption properties for selective glycerol electrooxidation. The synergistic Ni–Co active sites promote hydroxide activation and glycerol adsorption, enabling efficient formic acid production and durable hydrogen generation under continuous ...

Authoring Environment for ShapeShifting Screen Media Productions

open access: yesProceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Interactive Digital Entertainment, 2007
We define ShapeShifting programmes as interactive and reconfigurable moving image productions that adapt their content, on the fly, to suit the preferences of the viewers or engagers. They are automatically edited at the time of delivery. We have developed a paradigm, a computational model and an accompanying software system for the creation and ...

Steering Oxygen Activation Pathways via Redox Dual‐Defects in 2D Hydrated WO3 for High‐Yield Singlet Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Redox dual‐defects (Cs substitution and O vacancies) in 2D hydrated WO3 steer O2 activation toward selective singlet oxygen evolution. WO‐CO achieves 8.6–15.8 times higher 1O2 production than single‐defect or pristine catalysts, enabling efficient pollutant mineralization via a pathway‐selective photocatalytic mechanism.

Authority and the production of knowledge in archaeology

open access: yes, 2012
This thesis examines the role of authority in the production of archaeological knowledge. It examines how fluid ideas and observations formed in the field become authoritative, factual, solid archaeological products, like scientific texts, reconstructions or museum displays.

Tools or Toys? The Impact of High Technology on Scholarly Productivity [PDF]

open access: yes
Toys. The impact of computers on productivity has been examined directly on macro data and indirectly (on wages) using microeconomic data. This study examines the direct impact on the productivity of scholarship by considering how high technology might ...

Microgel‐Based 3D Bioprinting: A Convergent Strategy Integrating Material Design, Jamming Dynamics, and Biological Function

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Microgel‐based 3D printed constructs represent a compelling and versatile innovation for engineering architecturally complex, dynamically remodelable, and biocompatible structures with high structural fidelity and bioactivity. By integrating material design, biofabrication, and biological function, these systems enable the development of adaptive ...

The Transatlantic Productivity Gap: Is R&D the Main Culprit? [PDF]

open access: yes
The literature has pointed to different causes to explain the productivity gap between Europe and United States in the last decades. This paper tests the hypothesis that the lower European productivity performance in comparison with the US can be ...
