Adaptive Control of Run‐and‐Tumble Escape in Pursuit‐Evasion Dynamics of Intelligent Active Particles

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The pursuit‐evasion game is studied for two adversarial active agents, modeled as deterministic self‐steering pursuer and stochastic, cognitive evader. For a successful evasion strategy, the motile target has to exploit all available pursuer information, e.g., by tuning the tumbling frequency with the pursuer distance.

Food inflation pass‐through from agricultural imports in a small open economy

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper develops a new framework for quantifying cost pass‐through in a small open economy by estimating firm‐level markup responses to agricultural import price shocks. We show theoretically that markup adjustments depend on firms' reliance on imported inputs and demand curvature, generating heterogeneous inflationary effects across firm ...

Does economic geography matter for Pakistan? a spatial exploratory analysis of income and education inequalities [PDF]

open access: yes
Generally, econometric studies on socio-economic inequalities consider regions as independent entities, ignoring the likely possibility of spatial interaction between them. This interaction may cause spatial dependency or clustering, which is referred to

Redistributive land reforms, agricultural productivity, and structural change: New cross‐national evidence

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Large‐scale land reforms constitute a substantial redistribution of wealth and reallocation of agricultural land, which is a major form of asset and production input in developing countries. While land redistribution (from the rich to the poor) remains a highly controversial issue, extensive evidence on its effect is limited.

A model solution of the generalized Langevin equation: Emergence and Breaking of Time-Scale Invariance in Single-Particle Dynamics of Liquids

open access: yes, 2017
It is shown that the solution of generalized Langevin equation can be obtained on the basis of simple comparison of the time scale for the velocity autocorrelation function of a particle (atom, molecule) and of the time scale for the corresponding memory

Racism and racial disparities in firearm violence: A scoping review

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Firearm violence (i.e., interpersonal, police firearm violence) disproportionately affects racially minoritized communities. Researchers recently shifted their focus from race to racism to better understand the factors that contribute to racial disparities in firearm violence.

PN Sequence Period Estimation Method for Underwater Direct-Sequence Spread Spectrum Signals Under Low SNR

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
In non-cooperative DSSS signal reception, the accurate estimation of the pseudo-noise (PN) sequence period is essential for successful despreading and information recovery.
