Improving methods of estimating autocorrelation function in PCS technique

SPIE Proceedings, 2002
Particles suspended in a fluid exhibit Brownian motion. This motion is due to collisions of the fluid molecules with the suspended particles. The smaller the particles are, the higher their frequency is. The laser light scattered by particles exhibiting Brownian motion will also fluctuate with time.

Statistical quality control techniques for autocorrelated processes

2003
The Statistical Quality Control (SQC) is a group of techniques which, combined with management, help to achieve continuous improvement in the production process. A standard tool of SQC is the Statistical Process Control (SPC) applied to processes that generate independent and identically distributed random variables.

Quantifying Urban Sprawl With Spatial Autocorrelation Techniques Using Multi-Temporal Satellite Data

International Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Information Systems, 2014
This study deals with the use of satellite TM multi-temporal data coupled with statistical analyses to quantitatively estimate urban expansion and soil consumption for small towns in southern Italy. The investigated area is close to Bari and was selected because highly representative for Italian urban areas.

A new spectrum analysis approach using autocorrelation technique and MEM

ICASSP '84. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
This paper describes a new technique for estimating the frequency of a sinusoidal signal immersed in broad-band noise. The technique is eminently suitable for identifying a single spectral peak in broad-band noise when the signal-to-noise ratio is very poor.

M-hop interception of FH/LPI signals using autocorrelation techniques

Fourth IEEE Region 10 International Conference TENCON, 2003
A decision algorithm in the correlation domain taking advantage of the large time-bandwidth is surveyed to see the effect of weighting, epoch error and in-between frequency distance for the single-hop case, and of extension to the M-hop case. After extending the integration interval to M hops, the asynchronism effect is shown to be compensated.

Vortex lattice autocorrelation function studied by an atomic beam technique

Physica C: Superconductivity, 1994
Abstract We have developed an atomic beam technique for studying the Abrikosov vortex lattice. Atoms skimming the surface of a superconductor in the intermediate state experience a temporally fluctuating magnetic field due to the spatial variation of the local magnetic induction. This field may drive transitions in the atoms.

Spectral responsitivity and efficiency of metal-based femtosecond autocorrelation technique

Optics Communications, 2004
Abstract We have studied, for the first time experimentally, the efficiency and spectral responsivity of an autocorrelation technique that is based on second harmonic generation from metal surfaces. High-quality autocorrelation traces are obtained with pulse energies as small as only 64 pJ (intensity ∼6.5 MW/cm 2 ), resulting in an efficiency that is

Detecting ventricular fibrillation using efficient techniques for computing a normalized autocorrelation

Computers in Biology and Medicine, 1993
With the introduction of the multifunction implantable pacemaker/cardioverter/defibrillator, it is increasingly important to detect and identify arrhythmias automatically. Detection of ventricular fibrillation by analysis of the autocorrelation function is widely used on surface lead ECG analysis, but due to the computational demand is not practical ...

Techniques for the efficient evaluation of two-dimensional autocorrelation functions

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1992
The evaluation of the autocorrelation of multidimensional sequences using the FFT is investigated. The bidimensional case is treated in detail not only because it is of special interest for the applications, but also because the reasoning used for this case can be applied to higher-dimension signals.

Elimination of Inter-distract Downlink Interference Based on Autocorrelation Technique

2018
In order to eliminate downlink interference and improve system performance, we proposed a method to eliminate inter-distract downlink interference based on the non-overlapping nature of the signal in autocorrelation domain. In this method, multi-antenna technology was used and spectrum resource was not additionally occupied, without requiring channel ...
