AutoLISP as a Practical Tool

1990
Must I really write programs? The answer is “No, but...”. You can get by with AutoCAD as it is. The program is already so versatile that you might think that it is almost perfect. A large number of AutoLISP programs have already been written. The section on “The AutoLISP program library”, in the next chapter, introduces some useful titles ready for use.

Evaluation of AutoLISP Expressions

1996
Problem solving involves modeling the real world inside the computer. We perform this familiar process all the time in our drawings, knowing full well that we’re looking at, say, a wireframe, rather than a real object.

The AutoLISP World

1996
Lisp was developed in the late 1950s by John McCarthy at MIT and, excepting FORTRAN, is the oldest high-level computer language that is still widely used. He chose the name LISP as an acronym for LISt Processing, because much of what we do in the language involves operations on lists of data and code.

Printed Representation of AutoLISP Objects

1996
The pictures that we have seen are a fairly close approximation of what is inside of AutoLISP. In fact, they much more accurately depict our data structures than anything we can type in. However, since we need to have a way of getting objects into and out of the machine, we must use a printed representation of these objects to communicate with AutoLISP.

Expanding our AutoLISP Toolbox

1996
This chapter explains the contracts of numerous AutoLISP functions. By now we’re quite familiar with how AutoLISP works, and it’s time for us to add subrs to our toolbox.

MOVEMENT SIMULATION OF THREE ARMED ROBOT BY BEING USED AutoLISP

2015
