Preoperative Cytopenia in Patients Affected by High‐Risk Neuroblastoma: Just a Matter of Platelets?

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims In patients affected by high‐risk neuroblastoma (HR‐NB), complete macroscopic resection (CMR) is associated with better outcomes. These patients are often cytopenic due to intensive induction regimens. The aim of the present study is to assess the impact of preoperative cytopenia on surgical outcome in patients with HR‐NB ...

TREM2 Drives Neutrophil Extracellular Traps‐Induced Dendritic Cell Maturation and Contributes to Lupus Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
TREM2 recognizes NETs‐derived MPO to promote DC maturation and antigen presentation, thereby exacerbating the autoimmune response in SLE. Mechanistically, TREM2 activation triggers the DAP12/SYK/ERK cascade and enhances NETs internalization by DCs, which in turn activates the cGAS/STING signaling pathway.

Parabiosis, Assembloids, Organoids (PAO)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
This review evaluates parabiosis, organoids, and assembloids as complementary disease models spanning systemic, organ, and multi‐organ levels. It highlights their construction strategies, applications, and current limitations, while emphasizing their integration with frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence, organ‐on‐a‐chip, CRISPR, and ...

Prediction of neutrophil nadir and recovery following paediatric haematopoietic cell transplantation with busulfan conditioning

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Volume 92, Issue 2, Page 568-578, February 2026.
Aims In haematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT), neutropenia resulting from myelosuppression is an expected endpoint following busulfan‐based conditioning. However, if prolonged, neutropenia can lead to complications like serious infection and death.

The Comparison of Acute Normovolemic Hemodilution with Allogenic Blood Transfusion in Patients who Underwent Femoral Fracture Surgery

open access: yesArchives of Anesthesia and Critical Care, 2015
Background: Acute normovolemic hemodilution is an available technique to decrease the side effects of allogenic blood transfusion. The aim of this study was to compare acute normovolemic hemodilution with allogenic blood transfusion in adult patients who
