Let's Annotate to Let Our Code Run in Parallel [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
This paper presents an approach that exploits Java annotations to provide meta information needed to automatically transform plain Java programs into parallel code that can be run on multicore workstation. Programmers just need to decorate the methods that will eventually be executed in parallel with standard Java annotations.

Exploiting Social Annotation for Automatic Resource Discovery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Information integration applications, such as mediators or mashups, that require access to information resources currently rely on users manually discovering and integrating them in the application.

Early‐onset Alzheimer's disease shows a distinct neuropsychological profile and more aggressive trajectories of cognitive decline than late‐onset

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 9, Issue 12, Page 1962-1973, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objectives Early‐ and late‐onset Alzheimer's disease (EOAD and LOAD) share the same neuropathological traits but show distinct cognitive features. We aimed to explore baseline and longitudinal outcomes of global and domain‐specific cognitive function in a well characterized cohort of patients with a biomarker‐based diagnosis.

Automatic Annotation and Retrieval of Images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Although a variety of techniques have been developed for content-based image retrieval (CBIR), automatic image retrieval by semantics still remains a challenging problem. We propose a novel approach for semantics-based image annotation and retrieval. Our approach is based on the monotonic tree model.

A transient inflammatory response contributes to oxaliplatin neurotoxicity in mice

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 9, Issue 12, Page 1985-1998, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objectives Peripheral neuropathy is a relevant dose‐limiting adverse event that can affect up to 90% of oncologic patients with colorectal cancer receiving oxaliplatin treatment. The severity of neurotoxicity often leads to dose reduction or even premature cessation of chemotherapy.

Automatic Annotation Method of Gangue Data Based on Digital Image Processing

open access: yesTehnički Vjesnik
An automatic annotation method of coal gangue image data based on X-ray acquisition is proposed. Firstly, the manually screened coal and gangue are sent to the X-ray acquisition device for image sampling. Secondly, according to the characteristics of the

LOST: A flexible framework for semi-automatic image annotation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
State-of-the-art computer vision approaches rely on huge amounts of annotated data. The collection of such data is a time consuming process since it is mainly performed by humans. The literature shows that semi-automatic annotation approaches can significantly speed up the annotation process by the automatic generation of annotation proposals to ...

MIRACLE’s Naive Approach to Medical Images Annotation

open access: yes, 2005
One of the proposed tasks of the ImageCLEF 2005 campaign has been an Automatic Annotation Task. The objective is to provide the classification of a given set of 1,000 previously unseen medical (radiological) images according to 57 predefined categories ...

Automatic Action Annotation in Weakly Labeled Videos

open access: yes, 2016
Manual spatio-temporal annotation of human action in videos is laborious, requires several annotators and contains human biases. In this paper, we present a weakly supervised approach to automatically obtain spatio-temporal annotations of an actor in ...

The anterior nucleus of the thalamus plays a role in the epileptic network

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 9, Issue 12, Page 2010-2024, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objectives We investigated both the metabolic differences and interictal/ictal discharges of the anterior nucleus of the thalamus (ANT) in patients with epilepsy to clarify the relationship between the ANT and the epileptic network. Methods Nineteen patients with drug‐resistant epilepsy who underwent stereoelectroencephalography were studied ...
